Good grief, Weka!

140,000 homes without power, and look at that house... only the foundations left!

Keep your head down, keep warm and stay safe.

That home was lifted off its foundations and deposited in their neighbours backyard!!

My neighbours holiday day house has lost its roof, gained a deck and someone else’s roof, lost most of its processions.
Everything happens for a reason

Good grief Weka!

More hospital admin uselessness
Realised last night that the oncologist had sent me home without any blood forms.
Yes we should have noticed, but neither of us is up to par, and it's not our job.
Oh well I thought, I'll phone this morning. I phoned the chemo unit.
'Who is your specialist nurse?'
I don't have one.
I'll put you through to the nurses then.
Who promptly told me I shouldn't be phoning them, but since I was through...
I explained, and that I need one for Monday.
You'll have to pick it up when you come in.
My blood is done at Lymington
Can't be done then, post takes longer than that.
What should I do then?
Come tomorrow and collect a form.
I'm not driving to Southampton to collect a form, to be able to have my blood done locally.

Nothing else I can do then.
What if I phone my gp?
Hmm, they might be able to help.
Phone gp, receptionist says will pass message to my Gp's secretary.
Less than five minutes later she phoned.
'Form is at reception for you, no problem' :)

Only thought after, the nurses who do blood come from Southampton. Will try and remember to ask on Monday, if it happens again could I get a message to them...

Di, we had something a bit like that with Joe! Came away from consultant appointment at Stoke without blood forms, we were taking him to Stafford for the tests anyway so I called and asked if they could be picked up from there beforehand and the whole palaver of getting that arranged was beyond belief!

Just the other day I had to call haematology to change his follow up appointment to Stafford rather than Stoke (even though it'd been written on the form by the consultant that it should be at Stafford). Stoke appointment dept couldnt change it when I called last Saturday (even though they'd made it) and gave me three extension numbers for the haematology secretary at Stafford. One got me through to the midwife unit, the next to surgical day cases and the third to someone who needed to know where I'd got the number from as their extension shouldn't be given out to the public. I eventually got through to the switchboard who found me the secretary and she couldn't understand why on earth we've been going up to Stoke every time! It's sorted now anyway and his appointment has come through for Stafford.

Don had an Ultra sound scan yesterday and although what he was scanned for was ok she found something else that needed attention.
His bladder is`nt emptying as it should so she said she would "fast track" it through to the doctor and for me to go to the surgery in the
morning to see what he says. I went at 10am and there is no sign of the scan with the doctor. The receptionist checked with the secretary upstairs and
it had`nt even arrived there. I do not understand this as it was in the same building.
I have to go back this afternoon to see it it has turned up!!!1
In the mean time i have made Don drink gallons of water and he is now "going" again.
