Afternoon all, it's a lovely sunny day here, just a few fluffy white clouds floating about. Much warmer too, I have windows open. We've been for a nice walk, now I am about to change the bed, and ironing awaits this afternoon (or it might wait until tomorrow...or Monday... ;) ) Wonder how Jen is today.

Good afternoon all.

It's dull, cold, and trying to rain here. The Spring weather seems to have abandoned us.

We've been into town twice this morning, once to do some food shopping and again to buy a new vacuum cleaner,
as we saw a Dyson cordless one on special offer, and decided it was time we had a new one.

Hope you are all feeling fine.

Ton that sounds a bit scary - it's not nice as I know too well. Hope things have settled down now x

Jen came to stay last night, she was on a late finish/early start so saved a bit of petrol. She's brought me a home made brownie (naughty girl!) and a catnip toy for Charlie :D

So today Tom and I have been for a run out in the car - he was up in Teesdale/Weardale with work this week and he wanted me to see it too - it's all very remote and wild - and high up! My ears were popping! But what a fab run out it was - we stopped in Middleton in Teesdale for a coffee and a walk about, and then continued on towards Stanhope/Wolsingham, right over the top of the North Pennines! It was very bleak - the landscape is undulating and full of mostly heather but there are no trees or hedgerows, if you want to see what I mean, go on Google maps and search for Hill End (about half way along our journey) and then drag the little man along the single carriageway road. Fabulous! :D 8-) We also stopped off again at Low Barnes Nature Reserve, we went there last year, the River Wear is so beautiful in that area, all little waterfalls and quite shallow and clear. So we drove about 60+ miles altogether.

He's now gone up to the dog track at Newcastle for the evening and I am alone with Charlie 8-)

Been mostly dry and cloudy but we did get some sunshine, and now it's a bit drizzly. And cold, the heating is on!

Kaz you'll need a rest after today I reckon! Aggers, the new hoover sounds like it might be like mine - I LOVE mine! 8-) Di lovely to hear from your uncle, he sounds great! :D

Have a smashing evening whatever you are doing xx

Gal, I'll have a look at that in a bit. It sounds lovely.

It's been cold here too. I've sat with a hot water bottle earlier as John was working on the woodwork in the hall and kept leaving the back door open.

We've had a lovely afternoon. Ruth called in for a coffee earlier, then we drove over to Lichfield and we were stopped at a roundabout when our friend Lee drove around it. We were going the same way (he was off to the house he rents out, it's empty at the moment so he's doing some work on it, I think quite possibly for his wife to move into :? ) so we stopped for a natter on his drive, I had a big hug off him too  Funnily enough me and Tom were going through photos last night and we found some from when me and John went to Tenerife in 1990 and Lee and Steve (another old college friend of John's) were there at the same time. It was one of the best holidays I've ever had, it was so much fun and the photos brought back lots of great memories :D Can't believe that Lee and John both turn 50 this week, I've known them both since they were in their mid-teens
