I've got a frog, and a couple of owls Saundra :) I also have those lights that stick in the ground, round the edges of the lawn.

Billy had a longer walk than I planned this afternoon and it involved calling 999!

We were 5 minutes from home and walking down the hill through the woods which leads to the path home, I could smell smoke but couldn't see where it was coming from at that point as the path is quite closed in. Turned a corner and there, 100 yards ahead, was a wall of flames and an intense heat. Second week running that this particular area has been set on fire :x but it regularly happens in Summer because there's a certain element of society which thinks that lighting fires is a laugh.

We had to turn back, obviously, and by the time we got to where we were originally heading the fire engine had arrived and the fire men were trying to put the fire out but the water wasn't actually reaching it :? I'll see in the morning how much more greenery has gone, last week's fire was a big one :(

I didn't bother walking up that way this morning as it's bound to be soggy from the hoses but a whole bank of what's usually beautiful yellow gorse is black :x

Fires on heathland and moorland are deadly. Brackens and heathers are oily plants and go up in no time. You did well to turn back and call the fire brigade, Jo.

If the fires get to the peat below the surface they can burn for months underground and erupt again at any time.
