I'm interested to read all about you blanching veg before freezing. I have not blanched stuff for the freezer for many many years, I didn't think anyone bothered any more.

I think it's because I've only had small freezer compartments before Osc, so did it that way. And also because that's the way I've always done it :oops:

In saying that, I have just chucked load of broad beans in, without blanching, just to see if there is any difference.

If there isn't and if you don't blanch, then tomorrows job will be a lot quicker ;)

Imagine all the extra spare time you could create for yourself!! It probably depends on how long you plan to keep them in the freezer - we turn over our freezer stuff pretty quickly.

I used to blanch veg years ago when we had an allotment we used to pick loads of BlackBerry and rhubarb I just used to freeze them in poly bags hoi love blackberries
