That went well: Not!

I decided to do the coast bit first and set off in broken cloud. By the time I found a site it was raining so I sat in the car till it eased off before pitching the tent and getting the bed and sleeping bag in it.... then it started again. Had a meal and a few beers in the local to pass the time away before retiring.

Yesterday was grey and grizzly so I drove to Hornsea. The wind off the sea made it like Siberia. I did a good walk up the coast and returned for late afternoon fish and chips in a nice warm cafe before heading back to camp. Round about 5:30 the sky cleared and the sun came out, Yowzer! Or maybe not. There was not enough heat in the day so the clear skies mean that the night was cold - about 7 or 8º.

I was frozen this morning and everything was still damp and grey so I gave up and came home. At least I know that all the gear works so it was not a complete waste of time, but I would have liked it a bit drier and warmer.

Jan, I don't appear to be having much luck with my travels of late. :o

But Saundra will back me up, the forecast was OK, but the reality was dire - cold wind, lashing rain and not even warm, and it's June FCOL.

Ally, I cannot get a forecast for July, but it rains at some point every day from the 7th to the 24th, apart from the 12th when it is cloudy.

I'll bring a brolly.... and water wings.
