Sitting here having my lunch while using my laptop which will shortly need charging. Tom walked in and asked to borrow my charger as his has disappeared. I went to get it from where I keep it and mine has disappeared too.

There's one other person in this house whose laptop uses the same charger. Joe. I'm sick of him taking my various chargers and my iPod earphones, because he doesn't look after the ones that he has and they break.

Well, the story goes that Joe couldn't find his charger so he came down to 'borrow' mine but it wasn't where I usually keep it so he 'borrowed' Tom's from in his room.
Joe's now found his in a drawer in his room and Tom appears to have claimed the one found in Joe's room earlier and is lying on his bed using it and playing dumb.

Don't know who to believe because although Joe has recent form for taking my chargers etc, Tom isn't innocent of that crime either. The fact that Joe's on the defensive and has been going around looking for my charger while Tom lies there is really making me wonder.

Suffice to say that I've been shouting and slamming doors and going around marking all of my things with pink glittery nail polish.

There's the laptop charger, the phone charger, the mp3 charger, the tablet charger, the DAB radio charger and the grooming kit charger. They all use the same power and have the same connector so I only ever need one. They all sit in the same drawer where I am sure they breed.

I've looked at other chargers, think the only one that isn't an Apple one is my Kindle charger but that doesn't fit so no good there.

Thinking about it, my money is on Tom.

I was right.

I just remembered that Tom's been using his in the living room, he's plugged an extension cable into a socket we can't reach behind the shelves and has been plugging his charger into that. The extension cable then sits behind the sofa next to the shelves and he'd obviously left his charger there.

So...I think he'd forgotten this and when he couldn't find it he took mine.
In the meantime Joe had 'lost' his after bunging a load of cables into a drawer so when he came to use mine but couldn't find it where it's usually kept he looked for one in Tom's room and took that.

An apology would've been nice

Joe doesn't earn enough really but Tom more than definitely does, we've let him off this month with paying board but we have to talk about next month with him. We said we'd wait until he was working full time and he is now.

Funnily enough when Shannon was here last weekend we were talking about money and she joked to Tom "well they're not making you pay board" so I'm wondering if he'd said that he wasn't having to pay anything at all....

Yes, even if it's just a "peppercorn" Jo B gives us a small monthly amount, nowhere near what she'd be paying elsewhere, but it's a contribution - they have to start supporting themselves at some point, and when they leave education is a good place to start

Over the last few weeks, I think I've spent about 6 hours, looking for bedspreads.

I don't want a duvet cover or a throw. Just a pretty bedspread.

Looked at all the websites for shops here and they do plain, boring one's.

Looked at Amazon. Bingo

Sadly, they do not ship bedspreads to Portugal

So I looked at Spain. Ditto.

And France and Germany

So next time we go down to the Algarve, I'll be hitting the small, independent shops.
