KaBOOM!.... that was all we got, just the one. Not a drop of rain. It is hot and sticky, though, with humidity of 89%.

We've had some, and quite a bit by the looks of the patio...unfortunately I missed it as I was in Ikea taking advantage of their air conditioning

I took Billy out when I got back though and from the paths through the woods and on the common you wouldn't know it'd been raining.

Driving home from town mid-morning with a few dark clouds up there, I suddenly got four drops of rain on the windscreen. Four - and that was it! Evaporated by the time I got home …..

:? In great trepidation, I read the water meter this evening, wondering what on earth the consumption has been like since the drought started as I've been toting water like a coolie round the garden every other day, trying to keep a load of newly-planted shrubs from shrivelling up. I've been using a watering can, not a hosepipe. Thankfully, the usage has been not too bad and pretty similar to last summer, surprisingly averaging only 0.171 thingamejigs per whotsit for the last couple of months compared with 0.174 this time last year ….
