Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 16 Aug 2018, 04:53

Good morning.

The endless heat continues.

Conor's coming over around 11 to take his mammy out for brunch. :D :D

As I type Jacob's shoving things into a rucksack and about to be picked up to go to Cadiz for 3 days. :D

Tonight Don & I are going to the Italian restaurant for dinner and then for an ice cream...it has so many different flavours on offer it'll take me an age to decide which one(s) to have.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Expecting rather a warm day, once it gets light 8-)

Enjoy lunch and then the dinner Ally x

Into Ourique for a rake of things, as normal. Looking for a wall light, need to pay a bill, get some money out o the bank, bu wine, get some files, for all the receipts for the new bedroom and then stopping in for a coffee with Sonia and finally Pingo for the food shopping.

Leap in the pool when we get back and then Grumpy will be doing more tiling. Think he should finish it today, apart from cutting semi circles to go under the poles on the ceiling.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Raining here too Di, looks like more to come as well.

Not much on. Will drive the rental around a bit (Ford Kuga) to try and get used to it. cooking a bolognese later.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning all, it's just stopped raining here now but is still very grey. It's certainly saved me watering the patches I've seeded on the lawn anyway :D

Not much on today, food shopping tonight. I'm waiting for a Freddie's Flowers delivery though. I signed up for them last month, on a free trial, and the flowers were really lovely and it was a huge bunch which lasted a couple of weeks so I thought I'd treat myself and get a delivery once every month or so. I always have fresh flowers in the house anyway but we're pretty much limited to supermarket flowers around here and the quality isn't that good and they don't last for very long. There's actually a florist in the town centre which has been there for donkey's years but they seem to concentrate now on Interflora and the shop itself is full of vases and silk flowers, you can't actually go in and look at what they've got and choose a selection like you used to be able to do.

Crommers, how did the hospital appointment go?

Saundra, take it easy xx

Have a good day all!

The surgeon said she didn't want to give me a new hip just yet Jo, so it's physio first then maybe cortisone injections. She says new hips wear out and she wants to put off the evil day, basically.

Well let's hope that this course of action helps. I seem to remember my Mom being told the same, about them wearing out, when she had her first replacement back in 2000. She was 65 and at that age the theory was that she'd need it re-doing at some point but 18 years on it's still going strong.

Morning all

Dull and spitting here but not quite raining (yet). I'm so done with this weather and would really like the sunshine back - not the 30+ temperatures necessarily, 25 / 26 would do mejust fine - but I really just want those blue skies and sunshine back - sigh :(

Ally, have a lovely day and enjoy those ice creams - yum!
Jan, hope you get everything done you need to
Jo, I'd love to have fresh flowers more often but given I'm at work all week and then out so much on weekends it's not really worth it as I'm not home enough to enjoy them. Nadine, my SIL, always has some. Is Freddie's Flowers nationwide or local to you?
Crommers, nice car! any news on yours? Re the hip my mom had hers done 3 years ago now (or is it 2 :? ) and and she really should have the 2nd one done as well but is holding out as they 'only' last 10 years or so. Given she's now 80 we all think she should just get on with it and enjoy it while she is still fit and able to do so but she's not so sure it's time yet :D - go mom!!
Di, glad you had a lovely evening - enjoy today doing not much
Saundra, hope you have an OK day x

Usual / usual for me - given that it's going to be raining nearly all day (apparently) I won't need to go past the allotment to water

Have a lovely day all xx

Morning all :)

Ally, have the best day!!! Xxxx

Hope that all gets done Jan :)

Rain here too Di :? Glad you had a good evening 8-)

Morning Saundra ((((x))))

Hope you get used to the rental car Crommers. How long will you have it for?

Jo, the flowers sound a lovely idea! I always have fresh flowers, and usually buy them in Marks or Sainsbury's xxx

It's raining here, but forecast to clear up. This gives me the dilemma of wearing my heavy rain jacket - but might end up carrying it - or just a light jacket and use my brolly :cute:  Back to normal weather here in Gloucester :P

A walk to town to get my steps, five minutes in the tanning thing, a mooch round, then up to see D as I haven't seen her since Saturday! No Pilates tonight, Steph is on her holidays.

Have a good day everyone :) xxx
