I would like to say a few words about my beautiful friend Di.

We first 'met' on the DM health boards when my friend Jan had been diagnosed with cancer and it quickly became apparent she wasn't going to live long. :(

Di was first on hand to offer advice, support and friendship.

After Jan passed away somehow Di and I continued 'talking' and it soon became clear to the both of us that we had a bond. You know when you connect with someone? That was us.

Di guided me later to VV where our friendship became deeper and we discovered a real love of things we both enjoyed like cooking. Many a recipe was swapped, shared, talked about and compared. :D

We shared a passion for 'frocks' (she would love me saying this! ) shoes and books. Oh yes. Books. :D

We met in real life September 2014 when we'd arranged to meet Kaz in London to see the WW1 poppies.

Wow! What a day that was. Kaz....memories for ever? Indeed.

After that we got a cruise boat on the Thames to Greenwich. A pub meal and a mooch round the market. Photos are still on fb of Di and I chewing the fat at a clothes stall.

Di and Bry came to Spain quite a few times and every time they did we met up.

The occasion it peed with rain we sat chatting in the pub for a whole 6 hours! :D

Di. You were a wonderful lady. Kind, feisty, intelligent...I could go on.

I want the world to know how happy I am/was to have had you in my life.

I love you so much my dear, dear friend.

RIP Di.

I will love you always and will never forget you.

That is beautiful, Ally. Like you, I met Di and Bry through Femail and we were hosties together. The first time we met, we just knew each other across a crowded railway station, never having seen a photo of each other, and met at several Host meets in London after that, and once when we were on our way back from a dance break in Bournemouth. The couple we were with struggled to understand a friendship with someone met on the internet!

The last time we met was July 2014, when Dorisday had a get together in her house when Edward and I were in Southampton on our way home from a cruise. Di and Bry kindly provided our transport that day, collecting us and then bringing us to the airport later for our flight home. That was a very special day, Lozzles was there too and I’m sure you’ve all seen the lovely photo of the four “hotties” which appeared on FB then and always reappears when it comes up on FB memories.

Femail created some wonderful friendships and strong bonds and of course, no one knew this better than Di and Bry, whose loving and enduring relationship began in the Femail chatroom all those years ago.

Beautiful words Ally. I do have lovely forever memories of that day in London - when I got your message first thing this morning, I went straight into the Facebook album of that day. Very special.

Di has been such a huge part of VV, right from the start. None of us will ever forget her, she was a very special person.

RIP dear Di xxxxxxx

a lovely post Ally - Di was a super special person and she will be so very much missed.

I'll never forget my first meet with her and Bry - it was meant to be a day trip but because of train issues on the way home I ended up staying overnight. We had such a fabulous unplanned evening

Rest in peace Di x
