i apologise for the use of we , but sue me

My mum was surprised at how we were so close to our neighbours , we moved here in march 2006 , she and my dad moved into thier new house a week later.

We live in a cul de sac , off a cul de sac , off of a no through road , they live on just a road , the only neighbours they know are the ones they share a drive with.

okay 9 houses , in our cul de sac , no 1 dont know well , no 2 , lady with 2 teenage girls , speaks to me but not Di , go figure , no 3 the lovely Pam , she is a nurse who is so nice she would melt your retinas if you had an ounce of devil in you , no 4 US , no 5 the enigma that is Pauline , single but attached then single then attached , no 6 stewart or stuart , single , no 7 alan and julie (non drinkers so avoid) no 7 Brenda , recently widowed , the lovely John , im sure Di must have mentioned , no 9 mark and lisa , okay but decision pending.

I told Pam (no 3) last night , as i knew she wouldnt be around today , told no's 5 , 6 and 8 today as well as 2 others that live around the corner , mum is gobsmacked LOL

I have 3neighbours. Mick has my key he cuts my grass and is there if I need anything his wife says hello that's all next door post my letters and help if I ask but never see them excerpt in the summer in the garden the alcoholics the other side will help only ever rung once have to say they have all been brilliant whole iv been ill

I remember Di talking of Brenda and John, and also of Minnie walking as far as Andy's house when she was so poorly.

We're lucky I think where we live. We're on a cul de sac of 11 houses and, apart from two families, we have really good neighbours.

Should add that we were all chuffed to bits that Minnie managed to walk as far as Andy's!

We have nice neighbours mostly too Bry, Sue next door and I go out for coffee now and again and her hubby Joe is quiet but very nice The Wagstaffs on our other side are just round the corner and are pleasant, although not often at home as their business means they travel a lot. They did have a teenage son living there, with questionable taste in .hair but he's moved out to live with his girlfriend.

One guy over the back is a bit of a PITA - the very first day he moved in he knocked on our door at dinner time - we had guests and were eating at the time, and proceeded to rant about the dogs barking! They'd been overexcited to see our visitors (family) but had only barked for a few minutes. Since then his noisy children have made FAR more noise in their garden, which backs onto ours,and he's pulled their house to bits with a conservatory, garage conversion, new bathrooms etc, so the noise has all come from him Why he's done all that to a lovely 5 bed 10 year old house I'll never know. Nobody on here likes him, strangely enough

I'm glad you had neighbours who care about you and dear Di, so it's natural that you wanted to let them know! Don't worry about what anyone else thinks (((((x)))))

Good neighbours are a blessing. Bad ones can make your life hell. I'm glad yours are OK Bb.
