A broken nose story.

Postby Workingman » 15 Oct 2018, 14:23

Ouch! Changing a light bulb in the kitchen on Thursday afternoon.

I was up the steps wearing mules - wrong footwear. Changed the bulb. Stepped out of a mule. Missed the step. Went head first into the cupboards. Banged my head on the worktop and cracked my nose on the drawer handle - blood everywhere.

Nurse said that not much could be done because I had taken so much skin off and that the black eyes and bruise on my forehead should heal in a few weeks, if not then to go back and see the doctor. Just been for a clean up and it is all going fine.

Moral of the story: wear decent footwear when working up steps / ladders.

Blimey Frank, that sounds painful. I hope it's eased off a bit now.

I looked like I had done a few rounds with Sonny Liston.

It was all slow motion..... Over I go, what do I do with this light bulb? Let go and steady yourself. Too late - bump!

At least all the bulbs are now LEDs so I should never have to go up stepladders ever again - silver linings and all that.
