News is that a paraplegic man dragged himself through Luton airport after his self-propelling wheelchair was left behind on a flight, so he is suing the airport.

That is a very bad thing to happen, but hang on.

He was offered a member of staff with a pushed wheelchair to get him through arrivals and out to his taxi, but he refused. His reasoning was that he would lose his independence, suffer pressure sores and left him feeling humiliated and degraded.

Please!

How about "Thank you, that was very kind, have a nice evening"?

Oh, hang on. That does not get you on the telly.

It wasn't even Luton's fault, the chair was not put on the aircraft by the departure airport.

Yes, he came across as a complete pretzel, and probably set public perception of disability rights back by about 5 years.

As did the BBC News' "disability expert" in trying to defend him.
