Where are all the supporters?

Shouldn't they be out on the streets letting off fireworks and waving Union Flags?

I have only been popping in and out of the news channels because I was fixing a leak under the kitchen sink and I heard very few things but negatives. Now I understand that makes for better television, but still. The nearest anyone got to supporting it was to say that it was the best offer we were likely to get.

Whether it is the best deal is a moot point, but then again it is a truly remarkable deal. It is simultaneously Remain Lite and Brexit Lite. How could it possibly fail to get past parliament?

As for May's letter appealing to us all to get behind the deal. It is largely the same old guff she has been saying for months about the 'hoped to be negotiated' deal, and very few have got with that programme. Saying it about an approved deal is going to change very few minds.

To be honest, I didn't bother reading Theresa May's letter as it wouldn't alter my opinion of the proceedings anyway.

Interestingly, the Times today printed an open letter from Tony Blair underneath May's which (if I understood it correctly) was a sort of plea to the EU to make further concessions to us so we'd stay in. I shaln't comment!

Exactly what I am saying, Ossie. People on both sides have already made their minds up and this 'plea' will make not a jot of difference.

It's taken almost two years to get there, and the journey is not over yet. How May can kid herself that this is somehow honouring the referendum is beyond belief. As a Remainer I would prefer no deal to this monster.

Already we have Spain jumping in regarding Gibraltar and then Macron demanding France's fishing rights. All will have a negative effect when we attempt to negotiate trading arrangements.

Let this be a warning to any MPs who are thinking of voting this deal through.

I would rather just leave, not ideal perhaps, but our fate will be in our own hands. A lot more preferable to being in the hands of the EU!

The big problem is that both sides have vast numbers who are completely clueless as to what it is they are voting for and what it really means. That comment, above, just shows the entire ignorance of the process and the vast reach of the press with their lies.

They should simply answer one question. "Who can more easily leave the treaties of the US? California or Canada?". It should be blindingly obvious but, apparently, it is not.

Certainly not to Mrs May. That question should have been pondered long and hard by May before she fired off the A50 letter without having any plans for any type of possible outcome.

That is why we have ended up with the bucket of dung just delivered.
