Good afternoon all, it's mild here and has been quite bright.

I walked Billy first thing and did a couple of loads of washing, bedding and towels, when I came home. I then set about removing Christmas from the house :D and put the breakables in their box in the house and got the rest of the stuff packaged up and put in the garage, John now just needs to put the boxed trees back up in the eaves. I've hoovered all through since too.

Ria, it shows how different the weather is through the country - we had loads of snow in December last year which hung around for a while and January was cold (I remember because John was made to take his holiday and it was too cold to go anywhere).

Have a good day all!

I remember the weather from last December too Jo - we were on the runway in Birmingham for 4 hours because of the snow.

And the weekend we were over for the funeral it was so bitterly cold I had to buy a coat.

The "memory" post from last year that came up on my Facebook timeline this morning, the one you commented on Ally, mentioned being glad to get out after the snow! It started on Boxing Day here, I think :x

Oh dear Crommers, that sounds dreadful. Hope you sil feels much better soon.

Been a busy day here. The last concrete slab has now gone, apart from the one we want to keep for another store room. All plants now manured - gawd, my back  - the sun was out, as was the rather chilly wind :( I also sprayed all the weeds - again - on the main drive, so looking lovely and gravelly now 8-)

Fire now lit, wine poured, that's us sorted :D

Oh and the Porridge film to watch

Evening all, we had Michael and Kellie on a sleepover, had a lovely time with them. They arrived very tired in the afternoon yesterday as they had all spent Friday night in a hotel with a pool and they had done lots of swimming. So they fell into bed at their normal time and slept all night - I never sleep well when they are here though and of course, they were up before 7am  However, it has been a lovely day so we went for a walk on the pier this morning before it got busy. We then watched The Christmas Chronicles, a heartwarming film. They were collected around 3pm whereupon I sat down and fell asleep  but we loved having them, they are so good.

I remember you getting caught out and having to buy a coat!

It was Joe's operation in early Dec and I remember John and the neighbours clearing the close so that he could get the car out the next day to take Joe to the hospital, and then me walking down to the main road to see if it was clear at 6am on the morning that he had to go in.
And a few nights later, it taking us over 2 hours to get through the snow from visiting Joe in Stafford to home - which is all of 9 miles and mostly an A road!
