Ouch, that hurts.

I am awaiting an operation for a long-standing back problem and the doc sometimes prescribes Zaicin ointment to ease the pain. It is made from chillies. Unfortunately I cannot get it on repeat so have to see the doc and explain: another pain. Enter the Internet.

I found a recipe to make a similar cream DIY. The mistake made is that I used Scotch Bonnets instead of just ordinary chillies. It is hotter than hot! :o

After using it washing hands thoroughly in plenty of hot soapy water is essential before going to the, ahem, bathroom.

oh ouch Frank, but that did make me laugh

Beginning November three of us headed over to Calais; as we were waiting at passport control my sister-in-law was telling us about when she heard a well know radio presenter mention same issue you have / had. Said presenter - from what I remember - had arranged for kids to be looked after elsewhere so he and wife could have a romantic evening. He prepped the dinner which included chilli's and during prep he needed to use the loo and forgot to wash his hands. Apparently all thoughts of a romantic evening VERY quickly went out the window and the entire evening was spent squirming in discomfort.

Well us three were in fits of laughter and the poor man at border patrol wasn't quite sure what to think of us

Ladies, I would like to make it clear that I did not do what the radio presenter did - I applied it to my back.

The hands washing thing was more a reminder to self given how forgetful I am.

I have often wiped my eyes after chopping chillies, or blown my nose
