You beat me to it Weka. :)

'I want a poor church and a church for the poor': Pope Francis pledges to help the world's needy in heartfelt speech. He chose St Francis of Assisi as his namesake because he represented 'poverty and peace', and he says that the world does 'not have a great relationship with creation'.

I think he's off to a good, and hopeful start, but it's not how we start but how we finish, so let's pray that he can be the man of influence.

Actually you don't want a poor church. A poor church will simply be a burden on everyone and only able to help with spiritual issues.

What you really want is a moderately wealthy church which uses the wealth for two things

1. Use the wealth to create more wealth
2. Use the "more wealth" to help those who need helping

That does not mean that the wealth should go to gilt or fabulously created garments or decorated churches. Moderation in all things goes a long, long way even in the spiritual world....
There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand Binary and those who do not.

Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has asked the new Pope to intervene in the Falklands dispute with the UK..

The Pope is a religious leader, his views, opinions and prejudices have no place, ever, in international politics.

Other religious leaders are routinely told to keep their noses out, so should he.

My thoughts exactly Frank, he might just turn out to be more trouble than he is worth!! However I hope my assumptions are wrong. "We shall see"
