Jan, have you tried a DIY small poly tunnel?

All you need is some bendy poles as used in dome tents, poly sheet pinned down with large tent pegs and boards to close the ends.

Grumpy has already made some "tent" poles, out of left over steel from the pool. We use them to cover the broad beans when we get frost.

We'll have to have a re-think for next year.

We could have bought some chicken wire this afternoon, but as only half of the cabbages are left, we're just using netting wrapped round metal rods and pegged.

Still not sure if we'll be getting some more at the market next month, although we have a wet February forecast, which is good.

Good news re changing our driving licences.

When we tried a couple of years ago, our nasty doc insisted on a full eye test and then we were told as Grumpy has a colour blindness, he wouldn't be able to drive, until cured

Just been told, by a friend, that Dr Paulo in our local clinic will fill the form in, on-line, no eye test, unless you wear glasses to drive (that's me then ), go to the IMT in Beja, with 30€ each, driving licence, residency and nif and off we go

Hopefully, as I had an eye test within the last 2 years, I won't have to go and have another one. I have the prescription here, so fingers crossed.

here is a random question; how do you brush your teeth?

I was looking up ingredients within various commonly used household cleaning and personal hygiene items, and being curious I looked up the toothpaste I use. Had a giggle that instructions were given but it did make me realise that I am brushing my teeth all wrong. Looking at point 3; I can't do that, I rinse after brushing. I cannot not rinse it just feels wrong and my teeth don't feel clean.

Usage
- Remove tamper evident seal from tube before use.
- Brush your teeth last thing at night and at least one other time during the day.
- Spit out after brushing and do not rinse.
- Dentists recommend you change your toothbrush at least every 3 months.
- Visit your dentist as often as they recommend
