Oops, that was lucky.

I live by a small roundabout and was watching the light snow coming down when my next door neighbour arrived home. She braked but the car went straight on between two cars and mounted the kerb before stopping just short of the wall - well it is -2°C! Phew.

The gap is where she usually parks but she has gone off to a straight part of the street.

Just watching the Portuguese television - too windy for the English   - and there has been a lot of damage further oop north, because of the high wind. Mostly tin roofs on petrol stations and similar structures

And a lot of snow up there too

8 districts are on red alert because of the wind

Many years ago, early 1960's I had a Mini. I was going to Birmingham and had got to the end of the M45. There was a big roundabout. As I turned to go round it I hit a patch of black ice. There was a deep kerb on the roundabout and I hit it side ways on. This turned the car over and it turned twicebefore stopping in the centre of the island. This was before seat belts. I was lucky with just a few bruises.
A few minutes later another car did the same thing narrowly missing mine.
