Afternoon all, the morning just flew by! We had a balcony cabin on the cruise and really liked it, so we decided to see if we could upgrade for our next cruise in July. That involved ringing the travel agent, having a chat and finding out how much it would cost, saying we would ring back, and talking over the options. We are happy with an obscured view one i.e. a view of a lifeboat, so in the end we opted for a Guaranteed cabin which means you will get a cabin in the category you selected at the very least, or even better - we won’t find out our cabin number until about a week before we go. Then Miss Osc phoned and we had a chat, she sounded very tired. We totally unpacked last night, and I have two washloads out on the line, lots of ironing ahead next week
I went out to get a few bits, then had lunch, and shortly we will go for a stroll down the Harbour as the prawn festival is on this weekend and there are lots of stalls etc.
We had a lovely holiday, really relaxing. The weather was dry although not that warm, but we did use our balcony, not had one since our first cruise seven years ago. We called into Zeebrugge on Tuesday, got the ship complimentary bus to Blankenberg, having decided not to go to Bruges as we had been there before. We had a nice wander around. On Thursday we were in St Peter Port, Guernsey - we were last there 47 years ago but had absolutely no memory of it. Bought a few bits for Michael and Kellie in Sports Direct, then went for a walk, such a pretty place. Over the six days, we had some lovely food and plenty of dancing, looking forward to the next cruise already!
