Good morning Sunday

Postby meriad » 19 May 2019, 07:16

Good morning all - in the words of cat Stevens; "up at eight, you can't be late for .... well in his case it was Matthew and son; in my case it's feeding the cats. Come 7.15 I had most of them piled on the bed reminding me it was 2 hours past their usual breakfast time :D

A dull start to the day with the promise of rain this afternoon apparently; so I'm going to get going asap to get a few outside things done and hopefully stay dry; and then may treat myself to a lazy Sunday afternoon snooze later today.

Have a lovely day everyone and enjoy your day x

Morning Ria, morning everyone

Grey  Lots of cloud which means the interwebby is really slooooooowwwww :cute: :cute: Tried to post earlier, but gave up waiting

Done the watering, although it looks as if we could get some rain sometime today :Hi: :Hi:

Mitchell really down yesterday. All his chickens had disappeared, as in eaten, taken by foxes. I know it normal, but all of them?? They left just one, minus it's head. So no eggs

Will head outside and do weeding and generally having a tidy up. I would strim, but don't like to on Sunday. I'll do it first thing tomorrow, as we have guests tomorrow morning, late, and the drive needs to be done, The weeds are bashing the underside of the car

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning troops. You are a good cat mum Ria, I hope they appreciate you. :)
Jan, that's sad. Poor chickens. I didn't know there were foxes in Portugal. Are they allowed to be shot?

It was busy here yesterday. MrsC went to York to see her old college pals. It's really nice that they keep in touch after all these years. I think women are more likely to do that than men. The place where they used to be taught English and History is now a posh hotel.

Daughter and Eliza, son and gf are coming for Sunday dinner which will be nice. I'll record the MotoGP and watch the motorbikes later. I've been watching the Giro D'Italia pushbikes a bit, Italy seems to have had a fair bit of rain.

Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning, it’s dull here with rain forecast. I hope the rain stays away till late afternoon - SIL is setting up a goal kick competition as part of the local prawn festival, in order to raise some money for a trip to France by Michael’s football team, of which SIL is the coach. They go on Thursday week, and will be playing and training at Richard Dunne’s football academy in Monaco. We are off out to Co Meath, for a lunch plus dance afternoon - it is always a nice occasion, plus our friends from Newry are coming down for it, so it will be nice to see them. Better go and iron Edward’s shirt >>>>>>>>

Good morning all, it's a cloudy one here although the sun keeps trying to peep through.

Bill's had his walk, I've done some cleaning and prepared the veg for lunch. Joe's gone to work and then he's off out for a meal tonight in Walsall with work. Tom's still in bed and John's out cycling. I think we'll probably go to Stafford this afternoon, we can't get out without Billy though now as he's got Sunday afternoon outings Sussex and the little monkey drags us straight to Coffee#1 because they allow dogs in

It's an interesting day for our area today. The electrification of the railway line is finally complete after quite a few years and the new timetable comes into effect today, we now have an hourly direct train to London (I've already bought a ticket to go in a few weeks). Up until now it's always meant getting into New St and either changing trains there or walking over to Moor St, or getting a bus into Stafford or Wolverhampton to get a direct train from either of those.

Have a good day all!

Yes Crommers, foxes an be shot, they're on the list of things that can be.

What I didn't know is that the blue jays, of which we have hoards   (blasted things love or figs) are protected.

Sun now out and warmed up nicely, so off I go, back out, minus t-shirt, but with shirt on ;)

Morning all - only just!

Ria, it's the same here with the dogs, wanting their walk, and feeding! :D xx

Sorry to hear about your friend's chickens Jan :( xx

Your plans sound fun Osc :D

Saundra, I hope their weather improves! xx

Crommers I love York, one of my favourite places in this country! I loved living there 8-) xx

Jo I really like Coffee#1 :D I hope Billy enjoys his visit  xx

It's warmer and sunnier here today :) Our usual coffee and newspapers gig was almost foiled by several roads being blocked off for a charity run, but we foiled them by parking in the city centre and walking down! Ha! :cute: ;) Feeling a bit throaty and warm today, hoping it's not a summer cold coming on

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Change of plan again. Good job we're flexible

Carlos was strimming this morning, so we thought, well, you're the one's we don't like to annoy, so okay. I finished the spraying, we got the strimmers out and off we went. All the "lawn" was done, both banks and then down and up the drive  :Hi: :Hi:

A beer was needed

Not sure how far we've walked today, but with the watering, spraying and then the strimming, a few miles

Molly, being a sensible cat - who hates the strimmers - stayed inside and then came to join us, just sat outside on the back terrace, in the wind.

I'm glad we've done it, as we have visitors tomorrow and the weeds (wild flowers) - although they look lovely, the colours are fantastic - it really looks good when it's all done.

Taters and pork in the oven, cabbage, broccoli, cauli and green beans in the steamer :Hi: :Hi:
