Good Morning Monday

Postby JanB » 20 May 2019, 06:48

Morning everyone

A gorgeous morning and we're getting warmer by the day 8-)

A bit of a tidy up this morning and I want to sort out a pressie for Julia. Our visitors arrive about 11.30 and hopefully will only be here for a couple of hours. It's Julia's parents in law. They stay in the Algarve every winter and then go back to England for the summer.

Might be able to get in the pool this afternoon, we'll see what the water temperature is.

Leftover curry for dinner - with chips

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it's quite sunny here.

Bill's had his morning walk and now the washing machine's on so there'll be some ironing to do later. I'll do the post-weekend clean up too and I need to take a parcel to the post office. Joe's in college this afternoon and Tom's working from 5ish.

Have a good day all xx

Jan, that is my kind of dinner! Kaz, shame about the WW decline. Jo, that Bill is a lucky dog.
MrsC to her dad's soon. I have booked a plumber to come and put an outside tap on the kitchen wall. He hasn't been back to us since we booked him though which is a bit of a worry.
It's a glorious morning here, sunny and warm. Have a good day all.

I hope he turns up Crommers.
We want our fence replacing and contacted five fencing companies 10 days ago. One, who advertises as supply and fitting, got back to us and said they just supply and don't fit and we've heard nothing from the other four! We tried another on Saturday morning, an established company from Walsall, and he was around within the hour as he was working locally, had a look and got back to us later in the day with a quote. He also told us where he was working that day so we could have a look at his work, it was a house which backs onto the woods so easily done and he'd done an excellent job. It'll be around three weeks before he can get it done.

Morning all, it’s a nice day here. Gym, supermarket shop, ironing - that’s my day in a nutshell.

We have been waiting quite some time for our builder to come and fix the leak in our bathroom ceiling, then replace the ceiling. Edward phoned him this morning - “Edvard (he is Polish) I will definitely be there on Wednesday” - I think he meant Wednesday of this week ;)

Hello all; a bit late in the day but then better late than not at all :D

Jan, hope the visit was fun - did you get all the bits you wanted for Julia?
Crommers hope the plumber did / does turn up - so frustrating when they don't; esp if like me you have to take a day's annual leave.
Kaz, Osc , Saundra and Jo - hope you've had lovely days so far and enjoy the rest of it

Usual / usual for me; cat socialising after work and then home. Really could do with a bit of rain but suspect I may need to do some watering this evening.

Hope everyone else is as well as can be and have a lovely rest of day all xx

No swimming - the wind is still too cold and the water is about 24C - not a hope of me getting in with the wind, which makes the air really cold

They stayed for over 4 hours  and will be coming back later in the year  The fil wants to buy some land and put a camper van on it, so they can leave it here - erm, no, sorry, that can't be done here. It might be done - illegally in the Algarve, but not here.

We popped down to the bar when they went and heard about the 2 crashes on the IC1 yesterday,. We knew about them, but didn't realise 2 elderly English people were in one. The other crash was nearer to us and a young lad was killed, the other as taken by helicopter to hospital. It's such a fast road and the drivers here, mostly, are complete nutters.

Sergio was saying that the two English who were killed were people he knew and he'd been to the funeral - hence he was rather tiddly ;)

The curry is a success, I'll be doing that again.

Crommers - curry steak and chips, you'd love it.

Warming up nicely now, apart from that wind

Looking forward to my bed, I'm tired ;)
