Good Morning Wednesday

Postby JanB » 05 Jun 2019, 06:50

Morning everyone

A lovely sunny morning, with a little chill in the air and a little breeze. Feels quite cold  and we're heading for a cool 23C later. Think will be giving he pool a miss today ;)

Doing our normal run around in Ourique again. Alentejana for wine, police for complaint, dressmakers for the curtains, centro de saude to collect prescriptions, then the chemist and Pingo. Coffee on the way back.

Will be heading into the garden this afternoon, to try to clear where I want to put gravel. It's rather over-grown at the moment. Once I've got it down a bit, I can spray my witches potion

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Jan, you sound busy :) Morning all :)

Sunny here, but I don't think it will last as the forecast is changeable. Nothing special on today, we need bread so I'll get a walk going to get some. I have ironing to do  :cute:

Have a good day everyone :) xx

we try to plan everything so that we only need to drive to Ourique once a week. It's only a half hour round trip in and out, but the track hasn't been repaired yet and it's a bit of a challenge to miss the holes

Morning you two, morning everyone

Jan, hope you get everthing sorted that needs sorting :D and dare I ask; why the police for a complaint - are the neighbours playing up again (or rather their dog?)
Kaz, enjoy a relaxed pootle day

Usual work day for me and then meeting a friend in Guildford for dinner. She lives in Dorset and has come up for some conference so a fabulous chance to meet up - haven't seen her in absolute ages!

Need to call Wildlife Aid later today; yesterday morning I rescued a little blackbird fledgling. I was in a rush so didn't check it over properly but it appeared to be very chipper and unhurt; so I put it in cat carrier on top of the outhouse roof where it could make it's way to the trees which it did. Mom and dad bird soon found it and I thought all was fine. Got home last night and the little thing was hopping about with mom bird close by and I noticed it's tail feathers were missing so it couldn't really fly. Tried to catch it but it managed to 'fly' it's way into the shrubs where I couldn't reach. 5 mins later an almightly racket from mom bird and Eli, one of my cats, was sitting with the baby bird. So a quick dash and rescue and then took it to Wildlife Aid. It still was really chipper and very loud the entire journey so I really really do hope that it makes it. I'll be double belling Eli (ie two bells on his collar) which hopefully will give the birds a better warning and chance to get away.

Ria for some reason baby blackbirds seem particularly vulnerable to cats. maybe it's because they are ground feeders. I hope you have a lovely time with your friend.
Going to Sainsbury's for a coffee in a mo. MrsC and her sis are at their dads. This afternoon we need to look for some tomato plants.
It chucked it down with rain here yesterday and it's not briliantly warm now.
Have a good day all.

Morning all :D

Nice and bright at the moment, but rain's forecast for later.

Hope the police complaint really works this time Jan.

Well done getting out to the shop Saundra xx

Came away from physio a bit depressed, I'm over a year down with no great improvement and all she could say was I need to give it time!! Oh well, will keep doing the exercises, but not feeling too hopeful.

We're off to the cinema this afternoon, seeing X-Men Dark Phoenix. We've really enjoyed all the others in the franchise, looking forward to this one.

Have a good day :D

Curtain lady shut

We went to the police again, because although they are keeping the three dogs quieter at night, the other one that is penned up still barks at night. We just want it moved away from our house.

Spoke to another lovely police man and he said that we have to ring when the dog barks. Doesn't matter what time of the night. They will try and speak to the owners there and then. If not, they'll be back. They will have one or maybe two chances before they are prosecuted.

We bought a rather smart casual top for Grumpy but it needs to go back and a larger size   is required

So we're going back to Ourique this afternoon, as there were only a few of these and as we know to our cost, if you leave it for a week, they've all gone.

Will have a beer or two on the way back.

Clouded over now and the wind is cool, although it's hot when the sun comes out.

Jen, I know it probably feels as if nothing is happening, but they are right, some things t ake longer than others. I was told I'd walk with a limp and probably never run again, but I can. Not fast, but I can ;)
