Good afternoon all, it's a humid one here.

Cromwell, I thought I was the only one who called it a Simpson's sky

I've been to Stafford and ended up buying three new tops and a pair of jeans. Oh, and a bottle of White Musk from The Body Shop. I'd forgotten to put on some perfume before rushing out so popped in there when passing and it's just as lovely as it used to be (although quite a bit more expensive!) so I ended up buying a bottle.

Joe texted me earlier "Guess who's at a farm near Penkridge?" I replied Eric Cantona...nope...Grandad....nope...The Queen...nope. It went on and on, it was a bit like the scene in Father Ted when Mrs Doyle is trying to guess the priest's name. He eventually told me that it was Alex Ferguson. Apparently a friend of Joe's works there and texted him to say that he was there, Sir Alex is a friend of the owner. Joe's friend said that he's one of the nicest and funniest people that he's ever met. Joe said that if he'd had time he'd have gone over and bowed down before him

Kaz, fingers crossed for good news!

Have a good day all!

Sounds a fab start to Ria's holiday - and I'm glad you've had a lovely time at Nerja Ally xxx

We made the decision to come home today from fabulous Northumberland. I could cry....but it's on account of Charlie who hasn't been very well (he's been with us) and we need to see the vet (appt booked for tomorrow). He's had this blinkin' cone on for about a month now, the patch under his ear is getting worse and he scratched through his soft cone today to make his shoulder bleed....I don't know what it is, but whatever they gave him a fortnight ago when Jen took him for me has not worked and I am not happy. Now he's being 'flat' and disinterested in things....

So since getting home I have had the washer on constantly and done a spot of gardening. We're replacing the shed/kennel as it's leaking (more the floor that needs replacing but hey ho) so the garden looks VERY different just now with no shed!

Kaz great to hear the good news! Very glad for you all, what a worry lifted! xx

Just a quick update re Charlie - we got him to the vets on Wednesday and he had another steroid injection and she also gave me some cream for the sore patches. He's got a very sore on just under his ear which he can easily reach to scratch unless he is wearing a plastic cone....so sadly that's what he's got! It seems a little better now, although sometimes he still scratches and then takes the scab off so he's still wearing the cone, especially as I'm now back to work and can't watch him!!

I am also wondering if he has ear mites, as he had us awake most of Saturday night shaking his head and scratching the cone A LOT!! He couldn't sleep either bless him, and his usual thing is to jump on the bed and sleep with us, which he did but it disturbed us as well! So I cleaned both ears well and used some ear drops - hopefully this time it'll help - we all got sleep last night!!
