On Friday me and MrsC went for a pub lunch, very nice too. Half way through the steak pie and chips a woman comes into the fairly empty pub, plonks herself down at the bar with her back to us and starts chatting to the barmaid.
I missed most of this but MrsC, being interested in the human condition, didn't. The lady was complaining about her husband, saying that he went off playing golf every day, he'd taken himself off to the coast for a week on his own, they were living separate lives and so on. She was saying she'd had enough and that she wanted to leave him. Apparently he won't move out of the house. She then starts looking at houses for sale on line and saying doesn't this bathroom look funny?
The barmaid says don't forget you are due half of everything and |I'll come with you to look at houses if you want.
Thing is (besides the fact that I've known her husband since I was 10) - would you go to the pub and talk about your marriage problems so openly? If you were upset enough I suppose.
Anyway, Neil is how he is. He just does what he likes, his first wife left him for the same reason. He was always out every night on his own playing pool, darts, whatever. He can't seem to understand why it might be a problem.
