Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 23 Jul 2019, 05:49

Good morning.

Another pleasant day weather wise. :D

Talking to Don, who adores the heat and never complains about it, was telling me it was 40 degrees yesterday as he was walking into town for some shopping. He stopped off for a cold beer on the way back!

Think I'm in for a shock when I get home and step into Spain's crazy August temperatures.

A walk/run for me this morning then pooling with dad. I've ticked all my list so just need to do the things with Michele that we agreed to do together when she gets here.

Have a great day everyone.

Ally, for us these temperatures are crazy! But to you they are probably mild. :)
Morning. We are having daughter, Eliza and dog again this morning, bless 'em. It's already warm here, probably warmer than yesterday.
How much does air con cost?! (for the one week a year that we need it).
Have a good day all.

Morning Ally and Crommers, morning everyone

Promising to be a lovely lovely day out there; but alas where I sit it's like a fridge and I end up wearing long sleeves and a cardi   So needless to say today I'll be opening the windows and letting the warm air come in - yay!!!!

Ally, glad you got your bits and bobs done. When does Michele arrive; is it tomorrow? xxx Enjoy the pootle day with dad

Crommers, to be honest, we have these hot spells every year so if you can grin and bear it still then wait for the end of summer sales and buy an a/c unit then; they're not overly expensive and do work a treat (or bite the bullet and get yourself one if you can still get that is). I had one in my previous flat as the conservatory became an oven in the summer but my place now is a perfect temperature all year so it's not needed.

Well usual / usual again today, but home a bit later as I need to pop round to see Ollie the cat for a bit of socialising. Just wish we could find a home for him.

have a lovely day everyone - stay cool xx

Good morning all, it's already hot here and very dull and humid.

I was out with Bill just after 6am, I'm not sure if he'll get a walk tonight as the temperatures are still forecast to be in the mid 20s until close to Midnight.

The bathroom man's here finishing off the panelling, it won't take him long.

I think Joe's off to Amanda's later, he made me smile when he came home last night; he showed me a video he'd taken of a hedgehog which he'd stopped his car for so that he could help it to safely cross the A34 :D
Tom's working later, he handed his notice in yesterday after almost 5 years at McDonalds.

Crommers, the thought of air con is lovely!

Have a good day all!

Morning everyone

A pleasant start to the day and the watering is done. We're having quite a cool summer, not getting into the 40's this year :Hi: I can cope quite happily up to about 36C, then I start to wilt ;)

Not an air-con lover. We had it in our last house - where it was needed, as the building was a typical Portuguese one, no cavity, single block  But I find it dries my mouth out too much and we both cough a lot.

Not a lot going on her again today. Pool, sit inside and read, pool 8-)

Glad you've got the things sorted out Ally and hope you and Michelle get the other stuff sorted, without too many tears x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing

Morning all :)

Ally, 40° is too hot for me! Enjoy your day with your dad :) xx

Saundra, my pink floribunda rosebush is beautiful this year :) I've already had to deadhead it, and the blooms are coming again. It's so tall you can see the flowers over the top of the fence :)

Glad your bathroom guy is back, Jo. Mine spent the night here, maybe that will speed him on :ugeek: :P :cute:  Wishing Tom well in his new career! Maccy D's loss is teaching's gain :D Nice one Joe, re the hedgehog 8-)

Crommers, my Chris bought one of those air con units that Ria mentioned for his small flat, and it does the trick 8-)

I hope Ollie finds a home Ria, Becky has had no luck yet with Aunt J's cats :( xxx

Hot, hot, hot here! Washing on the go to hang out before I go out. It will be a slooow walk into town, I think. I must remember to drop next door's key back first - I fed Pusscat for them yesterday, as they were in Surrey for their nephew's funeral :(

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Jo - well done Joe for doing that; not many people would bother. And congratulations to Tom - the next big step for him in his career; when does he start college?
Kaz, how sad to be attending the funeral of a younger generation :(

Saundra, I can't take off the cardi - it's freezing where I sit and I'm seriously contemplating putting on a heater!

Ria, he starts in September but it's not college or university based. It's a SCITT course meaning that he'll be spending his time in a school and learning on the job but he'll still gain his PGCE by the end of the year long course.
He'll be training at a secondary school about 2 miles away, it's actually the school that John went to. He went to meet his mentor and have a look around last week.

I've worked in John's office when it's been cold enough to sit there shivering in Summer!

I hope Ollie finds a lovely home soon, and that Becky has some luck with the cats too xx

Kaz, you're far too good to him - some tradesmen consider themselves lucky if they get a cuppa and some biscuits :P

The bathroom's all finished anyway, he left at 10 but the last half hour was spent chatting
