Good Morning Monday

Postby JanB » 05 Aug 2019, 07:03

Morning everyone

Lovely, sunny morning and will be a lot warmer later 8-) Still have a chill in the air

Off to Ourique after breakfast, to pay for the roof tiles and try and get a glass tile or order one, at least. Grumpy wants to go the hardware shop and then we'll head to the big Chinese shop. I want some nice planters, but I think they only have plastic one's but we'll have a look anyway. Also need more slip-flops

Will pop into Pingo, to get more water and beer.

Back to pootle - which means a dip in the pool, laze on the lilo and read

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Jan, your day sounds good - hope you can get the bits and pieces you want 8-)

Saundra, my garden is starting to look a bit autumnal I think :?

Hopefully the weather here will stay dry, the forecast is changeable! We had a really nice time at the Red Lion yesterday - right by the Severn, beautiful country views, the food was superb. Coincidentally, it's the very pub where Mick's parents got engaged over 60 years ago (his grandparents lived in a riverside cottage a few miles round the bend of the river) but I had no idea of that when I booked it. Doreen was delighted to be back there, and kept asking me how I knew, bless her! Becky really enjoyed her day :D

I'm meeting up with the old WW gang for lunch - well, a cuppa and sandwich - in the M&S cafe at 12. Our once monthly catch-up :)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Kaz, what a lovely day! Your mother in law must have been thrilled. Your day sounds good to me Jan and Saundra I dislike waiting around all day for something too.
Ellie (our daughter) had a leak in her house, in the shower. They keep having to turn the water off and we've said for them to come down fo a shower if they need to. They have had more problems than enough with that new build house.
MrsC is going to her dad's soon and after it's Sainsbury's for me. We had some epic rain last night with thunderstorms and more this morning but it looks to be drying now.
Have a good day all.

Morning all...

sigh Jan, we can only but dream of pools and lilo's.... it's absolutely grim here. Dull, grey, drizzle or rain and just generally rubbish.
Crommers, I think the problem with new builds is that they're built so quick with scant attention paid to details. The builders don't care as they don't have to sort the issues that come up they just do their job and get paid and then off to the next job. I know of a few people who've had nothing but issues with new builds.
Saundra, hope the chap turns up soon and hope things get fixed
Kaz, what a super day that must have been for you all -it sounds amazing. And what a lovely (albeit not planned) surprise for Doreen

Well as said, grey and miserable weather here so just as well I'm in the office. Cat sitting for my neighbour this week so up early to fit them in before I head to work. Poor things are still half asleep when I get there; Trish usually feeds around 8am whereas I'm there by 5.30am :D

Have a lovely day all; enjoy whatever it is you're doing xxx

Morning all, we have sun and cloud here and Edward has gone walking to the golf club. We had a lovely overnight dance break, lots of dancing in good company, but we were very tired when we got home late yesterday afternoon. Today, I need to pack just a few things as tomorrow we will be heading off to Wicklow to spend the night with Miss Osc and family and babysitting on Wednesday while Miss Osc comes up here to spend a day in her office. I need to do some cleaning today and a general tidy around.

New builds seem to bring nothing but problems these days - my cousin Richard (Rose's son) bought a beautiful new 5 bed about 2 years ago now, and they are STILL in dispute with Persimmon over things :? I honestly don't think they train up skilled craftsmen any more :(

In M&S now, waiting for my friends, trying to fend off people wanting to share my table :? :cute:

*Waves to Ria, Crommers and Osc* :D

Good morning all, it's warm and sunny here after a wet start.

Lots of washing has been done so that's now out drying, although there's another load just finishing in the machine.

Crommers, I hope they can get it sorted as soon as possible. I must say that our house seems to have been pretty well built and the only 'big' problem we've had was when a couple of the dry verge tiles came loose during very strong winds one Winter. Can't say if it was a fault though as the house is tall (three full storeys plus loft space) and the wind always blows strong against that particular part of the house. It was easily remedied though.

Kaz, isn't it Persimmon who are often mentioned when problems occur? Our estate was built by two house builders and all of the Taylor Wimpy homes, including the flats they built, had to have the dormer windows rebuilt after a couple of years.

Have a good day all!

Grumpy used to work on new builds and he was t he one going round putting things right

Got some lovely flip-flops :Hi: and the glass roof tile, although it was rather expensive, but we need it, so had to bite the bullet.

For some reason, none of the cash points in Ourique had any money  apart from Pingo and there was a huge queue, so we didn't bother. Got some petrol though, as the tanker drivers will be on strike from Friday again.

Took a detour on the way back and "borrowed" some gravel that has been sat on the track for a year. It's now filled one of the big dips on the shared track to our house  Will do it again on Wednesday ;)

Hope the repair man has turned up Saundra x

Good afternoon all.

just finished putting new ink cartridges in my printer, (using a few swear words I thought I had forgotten), but got there eventually.

It's a lovely day here, so I might do a bit in the garden after lunch.

Hope you are all O.K.

p.s. I don't know why my posting time is given an hour late.
