Hmmmmmm Hmmmmmm....

.....that's me chanting to find my inner calm.

My golly gosh my kitchen is like a flippin bombsite! I can't even see the floor tiles for mess.  The two blokes are working like beavers I'll say that for them.

I know it will be worth it....

That's the painter finished upstairs...she's coming back on Monday to start on the lounge, office, hall and stairs.

As the oven and hob are currently half way into the garden  the good news is it's beers and a takeaway tonight.

Back to my chanting...... 8-) 8-)

It's brilliant that you can get stuff done straight away
Not like here waiting months
Will be lovely when it's done

I feel your pain! Currently we have a huge square hole in the bathroom ceiling, where the new window will eventually be put in place (not today though). There is the ongoing noise of drills, cutters, screwdrivers and the builders are up and down the stairs as all their gear is downstairs. The hatch to the terrace is open all the time, as is the door into our bedroom and en-suite, just as well the weather is still not cold! Looks like this will be going on for another couple of days :?

It's just the shock of the mess but the kitchen is taking shape and looks fab so far.

I want a new table and chairs now though.

Know how you feel Ally

Grumpy built our kitchen back in Chipping Sodbury, then fitted the kitchen. He finally finished on Christmas Eve

The one here took far too long, and as take-aways are not an option, we had to eat out ;)

Well, the 90 kilo new window is in place, having been hooshed up a ladder by two big Polish guys - for anyone who remembers the saga of our terrace hatch, this was (relatively) easy peasy ;) Still plenty to be done, but for tonight parts of the roof need to be made weatherproof until tomorrow. However at least real progress has been made.

You'll both enjoy it when the work's finished and peace and calm reigns again, but going through it can be a nightmare, as we know from our own refurbishment work. And down here, we have the added complication of "Dorset Time" …..

I understand how you feel Al! We completely renovated our last house whilst living in it, mostly before the kids were born, right as far as getting the walls back to bare brick and replastering.
We'd get one room done, have a brief spell of no mess while we prepared to do something else and then we'd be back to living in a mess again.

And once it was finished, we sat back for a while...and then decided that we weren't totally happy with it and had a large extension built
