Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 05 Sep 2019, 06:02

Good morning.

Still very warm. 8-)

A swim shortly then back in for coffee.

The painter finishes today. :Hi: :Hi:

All that's left to do is put my paintings and pictures back and that's it! Hurrah!

Out tonight for a beer and a Chinese meal. :D

Have a good day everyone.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Rather warm this morning and getting rather warm later 8-) This should , hopefully, be the last of our really hot days and nights and back to normal ish temperatures tomorrow. We've even succumbed and got the toad out. It's blasting away from the utility room to the kitchen 8-)

Lazy morning, done the watering, will have breakfast and then just watch rubbish on the television, read or swim. In Grumpy's case, have a kip

Off for a squishing later and we'll pick up a thingy from Heldar, to check where the wires are in the new en-suite, as I'm still waiting for the towel rail to go up and some-one can't remember where the wires go

Will have a couple of beers at the bar on the way back.

Hope the poorlies in the Crommers family are now better x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Ally and Jan; morning everyone

A nippy but lovely sunny morning here - so different to yesterday! Ally and Jan, I am quite envious of your warmth ;-)
Ally enjoy your day and esp when the painter is gone and all is done; yay!
Jan, hope you get everthing done; say hi to the people at the bar

Vibes for the Crommers family and hope they're all feeling better soon

A lovely usual / usual for me

Good morning all, it's a lovely bright Autumn morning here.

Tom left early for the first day of his PGCE course. I couldn't resist doing a Back To School photo

It's Joe's day off today, I'm not sure what he has planned but neither did he last night. One thing we'll be doing though is booking him a hotel! I swear he'll be the death of me! Amanda goes off to university on Saturday 14th, in Falmouth, and he's going along with her and her parents and sister but couldn't get the Sunday off work so he had his hair brained idea to drive down on the Saturday morning, have the day there and then drive back at night.
It's at least 5 hours driving - each way - and that's with the motorways running smoothly! He's a stubborn little sod and was determined that he could do it but after much thinking about the best option and hoping he would take on board any suggestions, he's accepted my offer to pay for a hotel for him near to the M5 at a midway point which he can drive to on the Saturday night, have a sleep and then start out early on the Sunday and be home for work.

Hope the Crommers family are feeling better!

Have a good day all!

Oh, and it's Day 2 of waiting for the postman to bring a parcel. I thought he was delivering it yesterday when he knocked but he was asking if I'd take in something for next door.

Morning all, it’s a lovely autumn morning here but I am finding it a bit difficult to get used to it being cooler :( Yesterday I managed to pull a hamstring while at the gym and it is quite sore, limiting me a bit. Of course I am waiting for the builder, today is supposed to be the last day if he ever gets here  My friend G from NZ asked if I would like to go for a walk, but because of waiting for the builder, and my sore leg, she is coming here instead. I had planned to do a couple of collages of old photos for our get together on Saturday night, so she is going to help me choose them which will be fun, and we might go out for a coffee if/when the builder arrives. Being up so early for the builder means I have the ironing up to date for the time being.

Oh ouch Osc, that sounds painful. Hope the leg feels better very soon

Jo, that does sound like a decent compromise - 10 hours driving in one day is one heck of a lot; glad you managed to convince him x

Morning all :D

Lovely bright and sunny here 8-)

Ouch Osc, best to take it easy for a few days.

Glad you got a compromise Jo, so much more sensible.

Hope all in the Crommers family are feeling a lot better.

Is the fine having the right effect Jan? Hopefully losing money will focus his mind.

Weekly shopping for us, M&S then Tesco.

Have a good day :D :D

Honestly Ria and Jen, I was so worried last night and of course, he decided to tell me his plans just as he disappeared out of the door for work late afternoon!
I looked at trains but they're not really workable (3 changes, a journey of over 7 hours and £153!), neither are buses and there's a daily flight to Newquay from Birmingham which I looked at too but for one day it's not doable.

Sadly, doesn't look like the police have been up yet - the dogs have been barking the last two nights and the new guests have just arrived and all four dogs are going bonkers

I rang Tuesday morning and met another GNR guard. As he said, it's been reported, there is nothing he can do, just add to the repost. But I should ring again, if there is still a problem. So I did, this morning  That phone call has also been added to the original

To be fair, there is such a shortage of the police, they really do have more important things to sort out, but we are being told one thing face to face, the same on the phone, but nothing seems to be done.

What with the dogs going bonkers, then Molly having a huge screech, which made all the local dogs join in  about 2.00 ish, we got up. We sat outside, on the back terrace, listening to all the other dogs, looking at the sky, which is just stunning. Grumpy had a beer  I had a water, he had another beer  , so I joined him   We had one more, then went to bed, with cotton wool stuffed in our ears.

And the dogs mad no noise whatsoever :cute: :cute: :cute:
