What a morning...

Postby Ally » 14 Sep 2019, 09:25

...and it's only 11am!

Fast asleep till woken up at 3am with the most spectacular lightening I've ever seen! No thunder. Stood at our bedroom terrace window just watching when rain came. First since April. It poured down for about an hour which by then we'd gone back to bed. Further up southern Spain has been hit by flash flooding. No rain for many months means rock hard ground which the rain just bounces off.

Anyway, woke up just gone 7am to lovely sunshine and the pool 100% full again....so I went for a swim.

Came back indoors to find a whatsapp from Conor to say he was on his way over to spend the day with us. He's going to take us out to lunch then we'll go to Jose's to watch the Malaga game and keep an eye on the Blues score. :D David is going to join us too. :D

I'm just finishing showering when I hear Conor's bike so go down to greet him.

(I've been feeling a bit meh recently. Really, really missing mum. :( She should have been coming over this Monday, her birthday this Thursday. :( )

Conor had a gift for me. I open it....and it's a Pandora 'family' charm for my bracelet.

That and a big hug have made my day. :)

Amazing how much rain can fall in a few hours. None for months then all at once. We just got the tail end of it.

The air feels so much fresher and the gardens look lushly green. :D

Yes Jan, dad's over on Monday and sis on Friday for the weekend. :Hi:

Ally, I have a cousin who lives in the mountains, in Almeria. Funnily enough, she's called Ali! Anyway, she put a video up on FB of the flash flooding there - it looked absolutely mental  Luckily it bypassed her property!

Hugs (((((x))))) xx

I’ve been following what Oldyeller has been posting on FB about the weather, Ally - she lives in Aspe and they have had terrible weather in that area, dreadful flooding as a result. Glad you got a little lift with Conor’s gift, that was sweet of him.

I'd seen warnings about the weather, people were told to be aware if on holiday xx

I love the sound of your new charm, that's so thoughtful xx
