Good morning Al and all!

It’s a wet one here. I got up at 6 to check the weather and it wasn’t raining so thought it’d be okay for Bill’s walk. I went into the bathroom to get ready only to have John come and knock on the door a few minutes later to say it was hammering down. You can’t tell if it’s raining or not from the bathroom as it’s in a part of the house which is recessed and sheltered from the weather.

Joe went out to work early. They do flexi time so can start anytime between 6.45 and 9am and work 8 hours Mon-Thurs and 5 hours on Fridays which he’s chuffed about, he’s figured out that he can be home by lunch

Glad your Dad’s enjoying the weather Al!

Have a good day all!

Morning all

Jo, the weather really can't make up it's mind can it? We've got weather warnings all over the show for torrential rain today, but right now the sun is shining and it's a lovely lovely autumn day.
Ally, enjoy your day. When do your schools go back?
Jan, glad the weather is playing ball your neck of the woods and the family is having a good time. Remind me; how long are they with you?

A usual / usual for me today and just hope it's a more productive day than yesterday. Felt like I was busy all day but achieved nothing yesterday and left work feeling just a tad meh! The rubbish weather definitely isn't helping I know but at the moment so many things just seem up in the air and I don't like that. So plan for today is to firm up a few things and then I'll feel better about everything :D

Have a lovely day everyone x

Morning all. Ally, the only 33 we look like getting is 33 inches of rain! Jan we got the lasting power of attorney forms printed off after a battle with the printer. Things are going forward. :)
No problems here knowing if it's raining or not Jo! I don't think it's stopped since last night. I hope you get things straight at work Ria.
MrsC needs some cushion covers so we will be splashing off to the shops shortly.
I think sometimes when the seasons change and you know that summer has gone you can get a bit down. Short days and rubbish weather are on the way, etc. But I'm not going to let it get to me if I can help it. Spring is just around the corner (sort of)!
Have a good day all.

Good morning all, it is a miserable day here and not not forecast to be any better for the day ahead. Last night we had an arranged power outage, so we went to bed around 10pm. The power went off just after midnight but I could hear them working along the street from about 3.30am until they quietened down near to 5am and I think the power came back on soon after that. But we had to be up early as the builder was due again so I suspect a little nap will be needed during the day. Thankfully and finally, the leak seems to have been located and there were no drips overnight, to be fair to the builder he worked tirelessly all day yesterday in increasingly bad conditions. He already had a cold, but refused warm soup or some dry clothes. He looked pretty rough this morning and said he felt bad.

Today I have a few bits and pieces to do - the ironing is coming along nicely, I did a lot yesterday. I’ve paid the credit card bill this morning, but first I had to go through an additional authorisation procedure required by the bank for online banking which required downloading their app on to my phone. All done successfully. I have a phone call to make and thank you notes to write. But now I am heading to the shower. Crommers, will your FIL have to consent to the POA? That is what happens over here, and going on what you say about him, I wish you good luck with that. We recently set up Enduring POAs, it is a very particular process.

Good morning all. Happy New Month !

It's dull but dry here. Nothing much planned for today, so we're having a quiet one.

Hope you all have a nice one.

Ria, the schools always reopen here the first Monday nearest to the 15th September.

Being a private academy we wait a week and then open. Very civilised.

Morning all :D

Well it's supposed to rain, but so far it's nice and bright.

Good luck with the POA Crommers. When we set mother's up we did need her consent, but her consultant was brilliant and helped us through it without any hassle. We mainly concentrated on me being able to legally manage her finances, something I was already doing as she was no longer able to remember pin numbers so couldn't use her bank card. Of course she always had an excuse/reason, her favourite was, 'why have a secretary and do things yourself'. That covered just about everything

Another good session at Blue Wave yesterday, I'm using my ankle weights for all the exercises now. I tend to tuck myself in a corner to prevent anyone falling over the step I use for some exercises, I'm usually the only person doing a 'proper' programme. We've found it best to avoid the official therapy sessions, too crowded, lots of congregating at the end of the pool for a natter, more of a social event really. I know it drives the physio Nat mad, she's always saying you can talk and exercise at the same time  We prefer to use the open sessions, fewer people, some doing laps and the disabled just enjoying being in the water.

We were planning to go to the cinema today, but the film we want to see Judy isn't out till Friday so we'll have to wait and go next Tuesday. Instead we're planning to pop into town for a bit of shopping and a general mooch. Fingers crossed we don't get the promised rain..........

Have a good day :D
