The judiciary in this country are wholly on the side of the illegal immigrant, imo.

Anyhow, last year the Theresa May government very quietly signed something call the United Nations Compact for Migration. It wasn't debated in parliament, we just signed up without any democratic scrutiny.
Among other things this document is a commitment to provide better treatment for migrants and includes an objective that states are required to save lives, prevent deaths and injuries to migrants, identify the missing and the dead and provide assistance to their families.

It doesn't say that we should give them the fare here but that's only a matter of time I suppose.
