Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Just been reading about all the flooding up north, it looks awful. I hope nobody on here is in an affected area.

Up early, Blue Wave this morning.

Have a good day :D

Morning everyone

a glorious sunny late autumn / early winter morning here - crisp, cold and sunny; just love days like these. Unlike up North.. :(

Jen, I agree, the flooding is awful and no end in sight either with the rain from what I can gather :( Just horrid. I know I keep on about it, but most humans can get themselves to places of safety, but the wildlife (and famers with their live stock) they can't and it's going to have a huge impact on the ecology.

Ally, enjoy your Friday tapas and beer.
Saundra, enjoy your day
Kaz, safe travels and have a lovely relaxed time

Well Friday means lunch day - Pizza Express today :D And then having nails done this evening

Have a lovely day everyone x

Morning all. Bright and sunny here but definitely colder than of late. At least it's not chucking it down though.
Speaking of which Jen, some of the roads around here were affected. The main road between Wakefield and Doncaster was closed because of flooding and quite a few minor ones too. Hopefully it will all have subsided by now though.
I'm off to do the Sainsbury's run in a mo, MrsC is going to our daughter's to help with the tiny terror and we are having steak and salad tonight for tea. Can't be bad.
I'll also make and freeze a bolognaise for next week.
Have a good day all.

Morning all, it is quite a nice day, thank goodness it is not raining as I hate driving in the rain. We are almost ready to go but will be delaying our departure until after 11.00. An icon of Irish broadcasting died during the week and is being given more or less a state funeral. He lived in this area and his funeral cortege is leaving his house and coming down through the village on its way into the city. So apart from the traffic issues this could cause, we want to stand outside and pay our respects as we knew him and his family slightly. He loved living in Howth and was regularly seen walking around the cliffs and on the golf course. His daughters went to Miss Osc’s school. Back in the day, when we only had one tv channel, his chat show and daily radio show were hugely instrumental in dragging Ireland from under church oppression and into the modern world.

I think it must be, Crommers xx

Osc, the Late Late Show was shown here for a while, years ago, and I sometimes watched. RIP xx

Evening everyone :)

Well we had a trouble-free journey down here, and have settled in. The cottage is tiny, but very nicely done, and spotless :) The stairs are incredibly steep, and our bedroom is on the top floor, but there are handrails :? We're very close to the harbour, and the town, and will be venturing out soon to the pub for a meal 8-)

Love to all xx

Yes, Gay Byrne. There was a big crowd of people lining the part of the route we could see, a lovely tribute to a man who lived a normal family life despite being so well known. When the cortège had passed by, we went home and watched some of the funeral mass on television. It was all very moving and his younger daughter spoke beautifully from the altar before the mass started. We left home about 12.45 and stopped on our drive to Cork, getting here just before 5pm. We had a really delicious meal (very different from the last time), went out for a bit of a stroll to walk off some of it, and are now in our room watching tv.
