A Little Christmas Miracle

Postby Kaz » 05 Dec 2019, 15:46

Mick's friend Doug came round while I was out shopping with D, with a cheque for £300, as Mick has won a raffle at the rugby club, which is great, but it's not the miracle.

Doug was diagnosed with diabetes earlier this year, but on one of his regular checks they discovered he has leukaemia. That then became an acute lymphoma (I think I have that right), and was recently given a few weeks to live.

He started getting his business affairs in order - he has a few successful building firms locally - and his life insurance even paid out immediately, as they do on a terminal diagnosis. This week he's been for more tests, and scans, and guess what? No sign of any cancer, he's in spontaneous remission  :D

He's been warned that there's a fairly high chance it will recur in the future, but for now he's ok!

That's fantastic about Doug, Kaz, and let's hope it's a long remission period.

And well done Mick on the raffle win! 8-)
