Avocados are supposed to be good for you; we used to have them fairly regularly but they've become rather too pricey for us these days.
Asparagus - always a bit of a treat, with lashings of butter, or as an omelette - but steer clear of the canned stuff, what we used to do up in Brum was have a day trip out down the Vale of Evesham where they grow it and buy fresh; end of May was the best time, IIRC. We tend to avoid supermarket asparagus as it's often a bit "woody" out of season.
Red wine - I'm pretty much teetotal these days, but Mrs O likes the odd tipple
Brownies - not allowed!
Runny cheese - I likes a good wedge of Summerzet Brie ....
As for Christmas food, forget Jamie, stick to the traditional. We bought the pigs in blankets, the sage 'n onion stuffing, the Auntie Bessies roasties and the parsnip/carrot mix today for freezer
