Anybody else?

Glad it's nearly over, that is. The election campaign.
I've honestly never known such a nasty, vicious one.
I don't know at what point "I disagree with what you say, but defend your right to say it" disappeared, but it certainly has.
Most politicians in this country are a disgrace, and the tv political journalists aren't far behind them.

I couldn't agree more with you Cromwell. The behaviour of Members of Parliament during the last three years must surely have set the tone. Comments on social media which in previous years would have been met with a counter argument and debate, are now accompanied in the majority of cases with vicious remarks and crude insults to anyone with an alternative view. With regard to newspapers, I don't understand how journalists can get away with publishing provocative articles without checking their facts first. Inevitably they turn out to be fake news but the damage has already been done.

I tuned out as soon as the deflection was announced and from what I have seen of the headlines it was the right thing to do.

I cannot really comment on the debates, interviews, politicians or journalists because I have given them all a wide berth, but from the snippets I have been unable to avoid it has looked less than edifying.

I've also zoned out of the whole shebang. The postal voting papers have been shredded.

I sincerely hope to High Heaven we don't get another hung Parliament as a result of this though. The ramifications of that would be catastrophic for this country in so many different ways …...

Sadly politics is following the lead of social media and that is not a good thing.

One more night to endure the impossibly convoluted reasoning. I think the very worst example I have seen equates to "Yes we know that he is impossible to vote for but just vote for us and we will sort it out I government". All evidence to the contrary.

I was thinking about sitting up tomorrow night but I might go to bed early and get up at 2am.

We will know the result by Friday morning and that is soon enough.

I usually sit up and watch an election unfold, but no tomorrow night. Instead I will watch the 9 pm film with a few glasses of single malt before going to bed. I will not even get up during the night I'll just wait for the morning at which point I might need to open the single malt again... but not in elation, it will be more like a drowning of sorrows whoever wins.

I was talking to a bloke at the club last night from Barnsley. Local rumour has it that in Barnsley Central the postal votes are in favour of the Brexit party.
I don't expect Labour to lose Barnsley Central, where they used to weigh Labour votes rather than count them, but I do think that they are in for a hell of a shock.
We'll see.

I have to be out of the hotel at 7am, with the car packed, so bed early and catch up then works for me.
