Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 20 Dec 2019, 07:16

Good morning.

It's rained through the night (the gardens look really refreshed now  ) and we're forecast a showery day and 19 degrees. We really need some wet stuff so bring it on! :D

A quick run for me then back to watch the final 2 episodes of Masterchef. :D :D

Conor & Jacob are coming over late afternoon to take us out for a drink and a bite to eat. 8-)

That'll lead on to us meeting up with our friends for the usual Friday catch-up. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Very wet and very windy. We were kept awake most of the night because the wind was just horrendous, but apart from a few plants, benches over, we escaped any damage. Next doors fence is on a lean, so he'd better get that sorted. And we have a stream through the field

Up north got a real hammering, many trees down, a few people died because of the trees and looking at the news, rivers burst and houses and shops are feet under water.

And it will continue for today and tomorrow. To the wind, but bring the rain on :D :D we'll have to let more water out of the pool later, before it over flows

So a day for staying inside and doing not a lot. I'll make the wood run later and empty the bases of some of our larger plants in pots, but only if the rain stops

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning you two, happy Friday

Ally, not sure I've ever seen a post where you mention rain in Spain :) - but glad you've got some of the wet stuff
Jan, hope you guys stay dry and safe and the wind calms soon

We've had loads of rain overnight again and it's still raining now - M23 down Gatwick way was closed both ways due to flooding and loads of large puddles on the roads. And so much more still expected. Quite a few flood alerts in place.

Lunch today is Chicken Shop; so roast chickens with fries, mac 'n cheese and corn on the cob - comfort food for this time of year (and weather). Having nails done this evening. Off all of next week - :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: Back to work for a few hours on the 30th, 2nd and 3rd and then back to normal as of the 6th.

Have a lovely day everyone - stay dry!! xxxx

Good morning all. Grey here but not too cold. It chucked it down last night.
Good news about the rain Ally, hopefully the gales will ease soon Jan. Your lunch sounds just right Ria.
I need to get a couple of cards today and we are waiting for an Amazon delivery. It should have come yesterday and it is our granddaughter's present, so fingers crossed it turns up today.
MrsC's ankle is an interesting purple colour and it throbs if she is on it for any time. We may need a GP visit next week.
We were supposed to be going out with friends tomorrow night but I think that's off now.
Have a good day all.

Morning all, it is a pleasant looking day after lots of rain yesterday. Edward has headed off to play golf and I am meeting my gym friends for lunch after their class. On my way, I’ll deliver a couple of local cards. Need to tidy around before I go out. Episode #592 in our Amazon parcel saga - yesterday evening the tracker was updated to say they had noted my request for a change of delivery address and it should be delivered on the next working day - completely untrue   Honestly, when this is over I am going to make an official complaint to UPS and Amazon. It’s the Iparcel section of UPS who then hand it on to a local courier company. Bl**dy useless they are

Morning all :)

It was persisting down all night, no rain right now and it's starting to brighten.

Enjoy the last two episodes of Masterchef Ally, it's been a cracking series with a very worthy winner.

Sensible to give this evening out a miss Crommers, definitely see the GP if Mrs.C's ankle isn't improving. It probably just needs lots of rest, but always best to be safe.

How annoying about your Amazon delivery Osc. Eldest daughter sent me a link to something David our grandson wants for Christmas, it was ordered a week before we went off on our holibobs, but as it was coming from abroad did have a longer than usual delivery date. The tracker is saying it will arrive with them by 8pm today, but it actually arrived a few days ago, it's nicely wrapped and under the tree for him!! Obviously I'm pleased he'll get his present on the day, but the unreliability of buying from other sellers on the site is one of the reasons I prefer to order stuff marked 'prime' delivery. Hope you get yours sorted.

Not a lot happening here, a bit of washing and last minute things to do preparing for our granddaughter Hannah's arrival this evening. She's staying with us for the weekend. She won't have the girls with her this visit, they've gone to spend Christmas with their father so it's going to be a difficult time for her. She works full time so I think she's doing her best to keep busy when it's most noticeable her house is empty. Luckily she'll be with our eldest daughter over Christmas itself, no time to think there, the house is always full and rather manic.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Afternoon everyone :)

Goodness, I slept like a log last night, after our very long journey. Over four hours there, and almost five back  Everything went ok. We picked H up, so he's here, and has opened his Christmas presents :?  Really lovely to have him here :D

Osc, it's not good enough, is it? :|

Ally, hope you get your rain - I wish I could send some of ours, the drains are overflowing with water in parts of the city! :o

Glad you escaped the worst of the wind Jan! xx

That food sounds so good Ria :D

Poor Mrs C, Crommers  xx

Ooh lucky you, Cruiser! :D

I had a few Christmasses like that, Jen, not easy, so I hope all goes ok for her xx

Love to all xx
