Postby Ally » 09 Jan 2020, 06:47

Good morning.

Forecast sunny and warm.

Work 9 - 11 then a coffee and pitufo. Will then walk with my colleague to el Porton as I was telling her about the photographic exhibition and she wants to go as it finishes on Saturday.

Work 4 - 7 then meeting Don for a beer and a bite to eat.

Have a good day.

Morning Ally. Weather here is as grey as John Major's underpants.
Eliza is here, we've just given her some breakfast. In a while we'll take her out for a bit of fresh air. MrsC is having a facial this afternoon.
Bolognese for tea tonight. Does anyone have one of those air fryer thingies? I'm thinking of investing in one if they are any good.
Have a great day everyone.

Morning Ally, Crommers and everyone

Thick fog this morning  and by the look of the pool, we had rain last night too :Hi: :Hi:

We had planned to go to Castro Verde this morning, to get some money (a lot  ) out of the bank and have breakfast. But the fog is a bit too thick, so we'll wait until it clears.

Also put a kibbosh on the gate painting, so we'll just have one black one and one green, rusty one ;)

Other than that, not a lot. My back it telling me I over did it a little yesterday, so I'll be good today 8-)

We've looked at those air thingies Crommers and they're quite noisy. We decided against having one, as they take longer than the normal fryers too.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all - yay, it's not even 11am and I'm posting here :D :D

Ally enjoy the outing, your day sounds a perfect mix between work and pleasure :)
Crommers, I don't have one but a friend of mine does and she loves it. Maybe see if you can get a 2nd hand one from somewhere or borrow one and see how you get on?
Jan, definitely take it easy today; yesterday was a marathon day for you!

Another usual work day today, a quick drink after work with a colleague that is over from the US and then home. Tegan (colleague) used to live in London a few years back so has lots of friends she's catching up with, so meeting some of them at 7pm for dinner. Which does indeed mean a quick drink after work (perfect!!! as not a late night home)

Rather warm this morning - 11 degrees according to my thermometer. And yesterday on the way home I noticed some daffodils shooting up (quite high up already really). Far too early!

Have a lovely day everyone

Crommers, I have an airfryer and love it! I bought a cheaper model as I needed a higher capacity with three permanently hungry men in the house, Tower I think, to see if I got on with it and it's great.
Cooking time is much quicker than in the oven. We love potato wedges made in it, which previously I'd parboil before coating in oil and then stick in the oven for 20 minutes to finish off cooking and crisping. Now it's just a matter of cutting the potatoes, stirring them around in a bowl with a spoon of oil and then straight in the airfryer for 20 minutes with the occasional stir around and they're done. It's also good for crisping up those part baked rolls when we're having a stew. You can do all sorts, and we don't find it noisy.

Good morning all, it's a bit brighter here after a lot of rain yesterday evening and through the night.

We went to see Jojo Rabbit at the Odeon last night. It was good, very sad in places and funny in others. I need to get onto booking tickets for 1917 today.

Ria, my daffodils are a couple of inches high. I'm finding that the Winter coat that I use for walks is a bit too warm at the moment. It's strange not to be needing gloves in January too.

Have a good day all!

Morning all :)

Have a good one Ally :) xx

Jan, I hope the fog clears so you can get out and do what you need to do xx

Crommers, John Major's underpants!!  xx

Ria, the bulbs here are starting to come up! xx

Jo it's interesting to hear you get on with your airfryer as I've been thinking about one too, as I could make "free" SW chips etc in it

I said the same thing to D just now, Jen - our shopping Thursdays race round!

I'm at D's at the moment, we're about to go to Sainsbury's. I'm going to use my lottery winnings from yesterday for it! :Hi:

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Mission accomplished :Hi:

Good news from Odette and Jose at the bar, their daughter in law gave birth to their first grandson yesterday :Hi: :Hi:

And the main track is being sorted :Hi: :Hi:

Mizzley and not very pleasant, so will be lighting the fire soon :D

That's interesting Jo, about the airfryer, as we'd heard only bad things. Will look into it again, when my fryer needs changing.

Afternoon all, up and out early for a doctor’s appointment at 9.30. Thankfully no bad news but a referral back to the consultant for further discussions on the next step. Then we popped into Lidl for two specific items....but of course we came out with more  Thursday, so children, I’ll be collecting Kellie at 1.30, better have my lunch.
