Look on the bright side, Cromwell, with all that rhubarb you could make a rhubarb crumble and custard, if you've got some custard. :P

I'll get me fleece, hat, scarf and gloves>>>>>>>>>>

Erm, re the old card and the new box. Sky are not daft, thieves and robbers, yes, but not daft. They don't want old but (newish) workable boxes out there when someone upgrades to the latest all singing - all dancing box and passes the old ones on.... so why don't you 'pair' the old card and (newer) box with a simple phone call? Apparently you can.

Enjoy the crumble and custard. ;)

Well,'tis done for now.
The Scart/HDMI connector duly arrived via Amazon and today sister in law and I went over to try and fix FiL's Sky box and telly, again.
The days entertainment commenced with FiL falling over and hitting his head on the electric fire on his way to the carpet. It's his own fault. They tell him repeatedly to use his walker but he doesn't.
Sister in law was very upset. Obviously I was concerned too but a quick examination showed the fire to be undamaged. As indeed was FiL. He says it's because he's tough but I trust the old saying more - "Where there's no sense there's no feeling".
Anyhow after a couple of false starts we got the TV working properly. It was quite a surprise, not least for sister in law who was next to the telly when it came to life and found out that FiL had left the volume near maximum. She did jump.
Gordon Bennet though, the last time I heard anything that loud was at a Status Quo gig.
But, it's done. :Hi: :Hi:
For this week anyway.

you do make me laugh Crommers

Glad that's sorted anyway...what's next?
John has similar with his mother. Whenever he tells her that he's visiting, the first words out of her mouth are 'bring your toolkit' - even though there's her son in law around the corner and the three adult grandsons within a 5 mile radius.

Said it before Crommers, you, your wife and her sister deserve medals.
