Crommers, John's Mom is only 71 and she's just like that! She's perfectly mobile, has her a nice little car to get herself around, has her wits about her but moans repeatedly that no one goes to see her or do anything for her. John was Facetiming her on Sunday night and I could hear her moaning about how she hadn't seen anyone over the weekend and how no one bothers with her, and it's always followed by her favourite phrase "but what can you do?"
His sister phoned him at work on Monday morning, asking what she'd been like on Sunday night (they always speak on Thursday and Sunday nights at 10pm on the dot!! We sometimes do a countdown to 10pm and she calls bang on  ), as she was being a right pain in the backside.

I have to rein John in sometimes because she makes him feel guilty and he's often ready to drop all plans and drive for 3 hours.

She's the youngest of 12 and we know that she was doted on by her older brothers and sisters, and John's Dad was pretty much the same with her (they met when she was 16 and he was 31, he had an adopted daughter who was older than she was!) and she now expects the same from everyone.

That "but what can you do?" would drive me nuts.
She has obviously been thoroughly spoiled all her life.
