Good Morning Sunday

Postby JanB » 15 Mar 2020, 08:19

Morning everyone

Bit foggy this morning, but once that goes, we're in for another rather warm day 8-)

I'm off bramble cutting back this morning. We had a wander around the ruin again yesterday - the roses are in full bloom :D They're never watered, but flower twice a year and the cuttings we took are looking good too :Hi: Anyway, saw that the brambles were taking over the fence again, so that's my job later. Suitably covered in anti-mozz, essential oil (against the ticks) gloves and sun-cream  Oh, and thick gloves ;)

Might have a bbq later. I took out what I though were lamb cutlets, but they're something porky  So we'll see ;)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Jan B and anybody else who is up.

Grey clouds but no rain. Going shopping this morning. Then just pootling.
Just seen the news which say people ove 70 cannot go out. This will apply to at least 12 houses in our small crescent.
What will we do for food. We are not big eaters and like to elect what we buy. Do not like junk food.

Have a good day everybody.

Good morning all, it's grey here with a bit of rain.

Hopefully that'll clear and we can get out for a walk later. There's not much else to do today really. Both Tom and Joe will be back tonight.

Jan, brambles are a pain aren't they?! I had to untangle John from some in the woods the other week

Cruiser, I'm sure there'll be something put in place if that comes into effect. Have you got family nearby? Otherwise maybe the neighbours who could go out will pull together and pick up shopping (I know that we certainly would) or arrangements will be made with supermarkets to make sure that food gets to people.

Have a good day everyone, and keep washing those hands :)

They certainly are :cute: These are growing on the other side of the wire fence and growing through it - I'll spray the roots when I've done it. All cuttings will be chucked over the fence ;)

I would love it to be hot enough for a bbq here Jan. Cruiser, I think that advice will be refined before too long. Jo, brambles certainly are a pain. a few years ago I tripped over one that had grown like a croquet hoop - two ends embedded in the ground.
Eliza is coming to ours shortly. Daughter is cooking and son in law is assembling a desk so they can't keep an eye on her too well.
Chicken for dinner.
Have a good day all.

Good luck Jan, isn't it said that the only things that'd survive a nuclear war are cockroaches and brambles? ;)

Crommers, I've done that too

Morning all :)

We're gearing up to go round D's for a family lunch. Both Nick's brothers and their wives are up for the weekend. Jeff and Jayne were already coming up, but Phil and Marina had their Spanish trip cancelled, so came up here instead.

Cruiser, I think the online delivery services will be making sure they work at full pelt, especially for the elderly. I will be making sure D has everything she needs, but quite frankly unless this quarantine becomes compulsory I doubt she will listen - she's a lovely lady, but very determined ( stubborn) ;)

Love to all, stay safe and well xxxxx

Think it was a draw - I'm scratched to bits  :cute: but they're gone. Just having some water - it's rather warm out there - then I'll make up the spray and zap 'em. Jo, try salt, vinegar and washing up liquid on them - it does kill them off 8-)

Afternoon all :D

It's been dull and overcast all morning, but the sun's out at the moment.

I agree Saundra, the delivery service will be stretched to the limit, especially if over 70's staying home becomes compulsory. I'm sure if that happens supermarkets etc will be told to give priority to those unable to get out. It will be interesting if it does come to this, how will it affect homes with various age groups for instance. It's just me and E here, but I'll be 74 this April while E's only 67, interesting.

Not much happening here, I'll be cooking roast chicken and veg for dinner, the strawberry blancmange and blackcurrant jelly is in the fridge setting.

Hope you all have a good day :D
