Thanks Saundra. X

If it were me I'd ask J to stay away. The risk is real. The big hugs will be worth waiting for. xx

(((X)))) Saundra. I'm glad your mum got the all clear Jo.
Been thinking. The nurse who talked to MrsC yesterday probably meant two cases in the local health authority area (mid Yorks). Because today two people died in this area.

Saundra, this is the government advice:

People aged over 70, pregnant people, and people with underlying health conditions are being asked to stay at home and avoid unnecessary, close contact with other people for up to 12 weeks by 21-22 March.

You’ll still be able to go outside to exercise, or just to get some fresh air, and it’s OK to go to the shops for essentials – provided you don’t have any symptoms. But you’ll need to avoid coming into close contact with other people so you might want to go places when they’re quieter, like early in the morning or in the evening. The advice is also to avoid gatherings with friends and family and to use the phone or internet instead.

The bits in bold are my work.

I have started self-isolation (long term health probs) and here's what I would do and will be doing with my friends and relatives.

Wrap up and go sit in the garden keeping a good distance between you and with the wind blowing between you not from behind one and towards another. Don't touch, shake hands, hug or kiss. If you make drinks pick the glasses / cups up using paper towels or wear Marigolds and then wash everything immediately. If you are offering cakes or biscuits give everyone their own plate and pick up as with the cups. Bin the paper towels straight away and any uneaten stuff, even full biscuits or things in wrappers. Make up a bleach spray for the seats and tables or wash with detergent and hot water. We are being asked to self-isolate not to go into solitary confinement. We need to be careful but also sensible.

Bih hugs for (((Ally))) and (((Jo))). xxx

There is no doubt that it will be hard for many, many families. But if we remain brave and get through it, "social distancing" will have been worth it.

Thoughts and {hugs} for Saundra, Ally and Jo.

Wise words from Frank. And thoughts for you too, pal.

Oh Ally, huge hugs from me to you! What a year it's been (((((((x)))))))))

Saundra, I am still visiting D. We aren't hugging, we aren't touching, and I wash my hands as soon as I get there. We don't as yet have any confirmed cases in the city, and might have to rethink once we do.....She's agreed to stay indoors, I am doing her shopping.

((((Jo)))) Thank goodness she's ok xxx

Jo, so glad your mum is okay xx

Think we need a huge group hug xx

So much for us all to worry about, Osc for one, us oldies with lung problems.

Speaking to my brother earlier, who also lives in the middle of nowhere, said, what do people do who don't have a huge field to run about in?

Thanks all xxx

Mom called me earlier, she'd had a young woman knock on the door and she introduced herself and said she'd recently moved into the new small estate just along the road, had seen them around and was wondering if they needed anything. She's left her number and had also taken them some cake. It'd been her husband's 30th birthday yesterday but they'd had to cancel family visits so had a lot of cake. She explained that she'd worn disposable gloves while preparing it for them and while wrapping it in cling film.
