All the other leaders and heads of state are in semi hiding. There may come a time when the reality of what happened here is revealed. I will be very interested when it does.
It might not be being discussed by them, and certainly there is a dead silence in the media about it.
But many many people are angry about this.
What is the economic system going to look like afterwards?
Atm we have a system of globalism. Manufacture in the developing world, import to the first world. A globalised world. People and goods moving freely.
Unfortunately it's not only people and goods that move quickly around the world - so does disease.
So what next? The Chinese will be desperate - absolutely desperate - to try and get back to business as usual. So I think will western big business. They have a lot of money tied up in the way things are. So maybe will a lot of world leaders (Trump excepted, who will try and use this as leverage in trade talks).
Expect to see a lot of "You can't blame the Chinese for this, it's Boris Johnson's/Donald Trump's fault for not preparing for it". Which to me is classic white middle class British liberal rubbish, ignoring as it does Italy, Germany, Spain, Sweden etc.
Just one thing. If things do revert to normality, and this happens again - what then? All the self blame and righteous liberalism isn't going to calm things down then.
