I've been saying this for a while.

You just need to look at the evolution of the pictures. It starts out with gloves and a paper mask. Then hundreds of medical workers contract it. The later pictures show full body protection and full face masks with filters.

China took 1,700 medical staff infected to learn. Italy lost fully 1/3 of their medical staff to the virus.

Why does every medical system have to learn the same lesson??? Don't they talk?

Suff, you do realise that you are not the majority and that very many older and elderly still only have terrestrial channels or only those plus Freeview? They would not know a DVD or CD if you frisbee'd one at them. A box set is some nice biscuits.

They are the ones most in need of protection from the avalanche of coronaronaronavid TV and yet they are the ones most likely to be 'infected' by them. There is no escape for many of them as their usual channels have been taken over by all the ever-so-helpful "specials". Believe it or not but there are some 'ordinary' families in the same boat.

Is it too much to ask for it to be cut back?

Ah yes. Many, many weeks ago on the other thread I pointed out the pictures of medics in scrubs, gloves and face masks and wondered. They soon turned to views of the same people in full hazmat and re-breather masks.

If I managed to see it then why didn't our highly paid 'experts' also see it? And why are we following the same route? We had the time to prep and we didn't, so when people call for us not to get involved in some 'blame game' my response is not printable.

We should have and could have gone to full hazmat from day one. That we didn't might cost us the lives of quite a few NHS staff as well as many others - we had the time. Thank you government, you are ever so blameless.

I have always supported the Government Frank but I have been very anxious about the protective equipment for the medical and nursing staff and also the lack of testing. I hate to admit it but I think the Government has been caught out on the hop and is trying to catch up. We can only hope it all comes together now.

Very true. I guess because my father is in his 80's, has a Virgin box, two freeview boxes, records everything and has DVD box sets that he is typical.

It is useful to remember, from time to time, that your whole family is atypical. We're all engineers, electricians, teachers or IT techies.

But the off button works just as well.

it is NOT too much to ask to have clear, useful, sensible TV. Well unless you ask a TV Wonk...
