Good morning, (just)!

Ally :D :D :D

Hope you get something sorted re your kitchen unit delivery, Meriad :|

Another day in "lockdown". I've been shredding a lot of old documents and Mrs O has been weeding out a lot of old books. We want to make sure our paper / cans recycling bin is full before next week's collection as Dorset County Council have said that will be the next service to be chopped. We are keeping our fingers crossed! :D

There has been a huge furore following the abrupt termination of the grass collection service, because they sneaked in the announcement on-line just before all the annual direct debit payments for 2020/21 went through on 31st March! (it's £52.50 for the year). I pay by card, so my payment went through back in February when I renewed it. Dorset CC have tried to placate folk by saying at there will be "compensation", without specifying what, but nevertheless, judging by some of the online comments, it's insurrection and pitchforks at dawn down at the County Council offices, (whilst keeping the requisite 2 metres apart, of course :cute: ).

In the meantime they have strongly warned that fly-tipping garden waste is an offence. That said, I fully expect to see plenty of piles of cuttings behind every farm hedgerow between here and East Knoyle when this is all over. I've started lumping up piles of our own grass cuttings under the tall shrubs at the end of the garden - the only disadvantage to that appears to be (this being Dorset) it's an ideal habitat for slowworms and grass snakes!

Enjoy your day, all!

Morning all........just

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Hope you get an answer Ria.
Are the carers still coming in to Mrs.C's father Crommers? Hope the wine delivery arrives.

Nothing much happening here, I really should be starting on some of my cleaning plans, but I'm not quite that bored yet

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Afternoon all, it’s mostly cloudy here but not quite as cold. I put out a wash load which will hopefully dry. We changed the bed linen, Edward helped me with the duvet. We watched Anton du Beke’s Elevenses with Anton on Twitter, he teaches some dancing every day and it’s fun to watch. Then we practised some dancing which we enjoyed. I sat down to post on here and got a phone call from a friend, so had a nice long chat with her - I had not told her my news so she was quite shocked. She had news of her own - she had a knee replacement in January and they broke a bone in her leg :o and she has been having a rough time. She doesn’t really do the internet, has an antique phone and is not great at keeping in touch yet always loves the contact, so I said I would phone her next week.

Three hours later, we're back

Alentejana was a piece of cake, no barrier, no sanitizer, no gloves, nada

Pingo  Hopefully I've got enough for a couple of weeks as I don't fancy doing that again in a hurry.

We've had sunshine and showers and some-one very kindly left a lecky bill by the front door

Glad Harry is well on the way to a full recovery Kaz xx

Think it's time for a beer 8-)

Oh Kaz that IS good news about Harry!! :D :D

Sadly Donna is still unwell, she's feeling exhausted today, but is up and dressed, still coughing lots and aching/temperature. Also has lost her taste and smell? John seems to have caught it too, and of course none of us can help with the little ones :( They're having to entertain themselves....they were the only two children in school last week and now have to isolate :(

I've had a long walk round the outskirts of the village today, after spending yesterday repainting Jen's old bedroom. I did three walls Polished Pebble and left the back wall the original darker grey. It is a lot better but I think it'll need a second coat, which will be four by the time I'm done!!! (I started this project last November and painted all the walls twice, but the colour went on much darker than I anticipated and it felt like being in a submarine!!) I still need to gloss (urgh) and the Dulux paint is a lot thicker than B&Qs own, so I may not have enough to re-do the 3 walls

Since my walk I have been in a group Whastapp chat with some work pals and done a crossword. T will be home soon - it's grey and cool today, supposed to be brighter tomorrow :)

xx

Thanks Gal :) Hope Donna is better soon, apparently loss of taste and smell is a sure indicator that it is the virus, rather than a cold or flu!

Getting on with decorating is such a good use of all this free time! I wanted to get in the garden today, but it's freezing cold

Good news about Harry!
The supermarket was OK Kaz. I turned up, was second in the queue and it was mostly fine. The had toilet roll but were short on eggs and tinned goods. Everything else seemed much as normal.

Good afternoon all, it’s been a dull day here with spells of drizzle.

It’s been a busy day too. A long walk with Bill first thing and then the Tesco order came shortly after I got home, and there was pretty much all that I’d ordered including toilet rolls and a pack of hand sanitiser wipes. I’d ordered some things for my parents too so me and Joe dropped those around. I called into the Co-op on the way back because we had no bread, I’d ordered a loaf for us and my Mom had asked for one too which they like and there must be a one loaf limit as their bread was delivered but our’s wasn’t even on the form as an out of stock. Anyway, they had a shelf full in there and I got some eggs too.

Joe’s been at home today. Initially they were all supposed to be furloughed from yesterday but he’s now been put in a different part of the site from tomorrow. Today is usually a college day so work had been set online by the tutors there so he’s been doing that.

Glad Harry’s feeling better Kaz!

Best go check dinner, it’s sausage plait and potato wedges.

Jo, I have found our local Co-op to be better stocked than my usual huge Sainsbury's. No lack of bread, including fresh bread, eggs, milk or anything really :)
