1. A Venezuelan Navy coastguard cutter hailed a cruise liner in international waters accusing it of violating territorial waters. The cruise liner ignored it. The gunboat then fired shots at it. The cruise liner ignored it. Finally, in an attempt to get the cruise ship to change direction, the coastguard cutter rammed it.
What the Venezuelan Navy gunboat captain had possibly not realised was that this wasn't any old cruise ship, it was a cruise ship with a specially reinforced hull for Antarctic waters.

2. An engine driver employed in the Port of Los Angeles took exception to the docking of the US Navy hospital ship "Mercy" there. He thought the ship had an alternative purpose to the treatment of Covid-19 cases, and believed it was part of a Government take-over plot.
Accordingly, he fired up his locomotive, and drove it straight off the end of the tracks aiming it at the ship. Apparently, he got to around 250 yards from the ship before the engine ground to a halt.
Nobody was hurt, but he has been charged with one count of train wrecking. It is not known if he has an attorney …...
