Rachel Reeves as shadow chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster is a clever move. It is a sort of minister without portfolio role, which puts her at the heart of the shadow cabinet yet leaves her free to continue the excellent work she does in HoC committees.

Angela Rayner as chair of the Labour Party is also a smart move. She will put the frighteners on the anti-Semites going by her low opinion of them in the past.

Gardiner and Lavery have gone, so no loss there, and no news on the rest as yet.

He also said that Labour would support the government in taking stricter measures while noticing that it would be difficult for many, but that things might have to be done because we have got to get through this. Then he asked about an exit plan. All pretty sensible in my book.

Exactly, Frank! Just watched his interview on Channel 4 News, he spoke of a meeting with Boris and working with the government to get us through this, but wanting a fairer society afterwards, especially for those key workers pulling us all through this horror. Good man.
