That is really good news, Kaz, but I am wondering if it is the common procedure. My ex FiL had skin cancer treatment and he also underwent liver checks at the time. He's clear now, so my best wishes for the same outcome for your friend.

No it was for specific issues, but I'm really glad your FiL was clear too Also glad that your Becky is ok, and the pup xx

Thanks to wonderful modern technology, I had a long chat with a friend this morning when she phoned me from NZ on WhatsApp.

A lovely thunderstorm, with a lot and I mean a lot, of rain Hammered down for a couple of hours, so will probably need to let some water out of the pool tomorrow

And then we had several power cuts, as I was cooking dinner.

Never ask a non-cook (Grumpy) to sort out the clock on the oven.

It's working he said, I can hear it. Yes, I said, it's a fan oven and it's cooling down. The light isn't on and we need to re-set the timer ( I can't do it, he has to ) I said. But look at the potatoes he said, they're sizzling. But the light isn't on, I said, if the light isn't on, the oven is not on.

Wouldn't have it Get the instruction manual out.



I managed to find it - in Portuguese

I'll just turn off the oven, I said and then you can re-set the time.

Why? he said. the oven is working.

The blasted oven is NOT WORKING, I muttered, the light is off, the potatoes are going cold, I will turn it off and you can re-do the time.

If you think so, he replied.

So I turned it off, he did the time and the potatoes cooked perfectly
