Good morning Tuesday

Postby meriad » 14 Apr 2020, 06:05

Merry morning all... a beautiful sunny - but oh so nippy - start to the day. But no wind compared to yesterday which is rather pleasant. Although yesterday if you managed to sit in the sun and in a wind sheltered spot it was really pleasant.

going to log into work in a bit, then 10am need to head to a local farm supply store to get animal stuff for my neighbour and whilst I'm there I'll get for myself. It's click and collect - so you place the order online; give them your car make, colour and registration . Go there, open the boot, back in the car, the load and go away, you get out check and close the boot and all done. Will need to drop the stuff off at my neighbours for her as it's too heavy for her to carry herself.

Usual work day otherwise and hopefully a bit more pootling about

Crommers belated happy birthday to your daughter for yesterday; sorry I missed saying so yesterday. My brother had his 50th the day of lock down and then another brother just had his on Saturday; definitely birthdays not to be forgotten.

have a lovely day all, stay safe xx

Morning Ria, morning everyone

Cloudy with some sun after the earlier rain - apparently  I missed it  More rain and thunderstorms forecast for today and a little cooler. Might have to light a fire, to keep us warm :)

Keep meaning to ask Ria - how's your mom doing?

Ironing for me this morning, not a huge amount, but best to get it out of the way.

Did a load of weeding down the drive yesterday, so will give it a miss today. Although the flower beds could do with a tidy up and amongst the bigger plants, i's easy at the moment to pull grass and big weeds out. Did a bit yesterday. Also found a lone daisy - nowhere near where we'd planted any, so have made a bed for it.

Will pick some broad beans and a cabbage for dinner.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

Ria, that's very well organised at the farm shop! :) 8-) Did you see about the B&Q click-and-collect debacle, in Nottingham? The police had to send people home, so many cars turned up at once! :cute:

Jan, I have ironing too - yuck!

Saundra, D was exactly the same yesterday, and she's decided not to watch as much news as it's really getting her down :? Have a ((((hug))))

It's sunny here, if slightly nippy. I need to nip out, as D needs some milk. B is still off, so we're going to combine a dog walk with a trip to the Co-op, then drop it up to her - two birds, one stone ;) I've already hoovered and wiped the kitchen round, the ironing can wait until this afternoon ;)

Take care everyone :) xxx

Ria, you are organised! Good news on your rain Jan.
Kaz and Saundra, we are both the same here re the news. MrsC and I don't watch the news at all hardly now.
In a while I'm off to Sainsbury's. I need to get some Pirinase for Lee, his hay fever is very bad at the moment.
A beautiful morning here with clear blue skies; it was frosty earlier.
Have a good day all.

Morning all, it’s sunny and frosty here.

I’m just back from a lovely long walk with Bill, the washing machine’s now on and I’ve got in the garden waste bin as that’s been emptied, the handles have been disinfected. There wasn’t a great deal in there and I wouldn’t have put it out normally but they’re bringing in charges for emptying those in June so I’m making sure it’s going out every time in case they stop collections (which they have in some local areas) and then resume once they’re charging, I’m determined that I’m not paying to have it emptied. Just waiting for them to do the recycling bin now.

I woke John up shouting “help me” in the night. I was having a dream about being held captive in a derelict house in the woods (there isn’t one but I know where in the woods it was in the dream) and someone was banging on the windows so I was shouting to alert them that I was there. I don’t think I need an expert to interpret that dream!

(((((Saundra))))) I’m avoiding the news too.

Kaz, out of curiosity I looked at B&Q’s website yesterday and I was something like number 10854 in the queue to get onto it

Hope you manage to get the meds for Lee, Crommers. Poor bloke must be feeling miserable.

Have a good day all, much love to you all xx

Thanks for asking Jan, she's OK.... she's a funny one at times. Basically besides regular monthly get togethers with her cousins that now aren't happening, her life now isn't all that much different really. You can still meet up with one other person at at time provided you keep social distancing; you can go shopping etc - so the lock down there is just that bit easier. But she just won't go out. She comes up with excuse after excuse why she can't / won't / doesn't want to go for a walk. She's doing her own shopping so at least that is getting her out. But when we suggest she meets up with one of the cousins at a time for a walk and natter then so many excuses... it's driving us all a bit bonkers really. When we suggest she goes to visit family then it's a case of "why bother, all we do then is sit around and I may as well do that here" - regardless that you'd actually physically see another person.

I WhatsApp video call her once a day / every second day and in a way between us kids she's having more contact now than when we are all at work in the office. Times like this I do wish we all lived closer because then we could take turns to go there for a cuppa, meet up outside her apartment block and get her to go out but it's hard when we are all so far apart. Frank, my brother that lives there, still goes to work so he can only do so much.

But hey - we will get through this with our sanity intact (not too sure about our patience though     )

Jo, I went onto the Wickes site this morning; 7.20am or so and I was next in the queue to get in and only had to wait a minute, if that...

It was just out of curiosity really Ria, John had priced up Ronseal fence paint on Amazon (£89 on Marketplace  ) so I was going to look at B&Q to compare the price.

Morning all, it is lovely and sunny here, probably a bit chilly but our terrace is quite sheltered so hopefully I’ll get to sit out and read. There is ironing to be done but I might manage to force myself to leave it until tomorrow ;) Also I want to put together our insurance claim for the cancelled Budapest trip, I think I have everything I need now. Yesterday I did a Boots online order and also ordered a few things from Debenhams, I am really going to miss them as they are closing down their Irish stores :(

Morning all :D

Lovely and sunny again 8-)

((((Saundra)))) sensible not to look at the news if it gets you down xx

Our youngest great grandaughter is 2 today, H was planning to bring both girls to visit this summer, can't see that happening now.

Surprise, surprise, nothing much happening here. I'm sure I could find lots of things that need doing round the house, but I'm trying, not too hard, to resist the urge

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx
