It is management for management's sake. We have way too many of them in the public sector.
One thing I will say - we have to see some improvement in the next three weeks, whether it be in treatment or testing. Lockdown may be necessary right now but people won't stand it forever as the only policy there is.

Well there is always the "suck it up and hope you don't die" approach. Funnily the politicians are a bit shy of this one.

It is a strange one. The number of people who are apparently not coping, and very often over what many would think are fairly trivial matters, does not bode well. Then there are others who are taking whatever life throws at them in their stride.

It is true that the lockdown must end at some time. When that will be is unknown and anybody's guess. It could also be that the process of easing our way back out might be more stressful than many of us expect.

Anyone who has spent a long period in convalescence or knows someone who has suffered and recovered from a long illness will know what I mean. One can get stuck into a routine that becomes the new normal and getting back to the old version can be damned hard work.

Well I guess the lock down is not compatible with snowflakism...

Over the last three years, I have had some significant times out of work. But when you go back, the companies expect you to hit the ground running and go even faster than before because you have had a "rest".

There is going to be a lot of adjustment on both sides of that divide.

Just as welI I max out at about 35% of my full potential these days and they think that is good.... Keeps the stress down.

My mother was a staff nurse in A & E when they still had matrons in hospitals. Also one of my aunts was a matron of a military hospital in India during the war. So know a bit how hospitals used to operate-- excuse the pun. Our local hospital is now building another ward using part of the already small car park. They should have developed what was a maternity and infetious desease hospital as a new modern one. It has closed and houses have been built on the site.
The local trust has three separate hospitals several miles apart as well as other buidings for clinics and consulting rooms.
Means there is a lot of transport costs taking medical supplies and documents between the sites.
Like a lot of people say they coudn't run a PU in a brewery
