Good Morning Saturday

Postby JanB » 18 Apr 2020, 07:46

Morning everyone

Grey start this morning and a little cooler. Supposed to be sunny later 8-)

Another rubbish nights sleep, gave up at 3.00 and went into the other room, Read for a few hours and dozed for a couple more.

Houseworkery stuff this morning and I'm hoping to get out in the garden this afternoon. Cut down all the broad bean plants yesterday, so that part of the veg plot needs tidying up and I need to dead head the carnations.

Curry, with samosas and chips   (by request) tonight.

Have as good a day as you can everyone xx

Good morning Janb and anybodyelse who is up.
Walked for the paper.
Lots of clouds about and a cool breeze.
Heard last night that they are re-opening the dump. So I will be there early on Tuesday morning. Hope to be first in the queue.
I always have arestless night. Up several times to go to the toilet. Usually have a doze in the afternoon.
Going to give our bedroom a really good clean, moving the bed and moveable furniture. We have fitted wardrobes but have small bedside cabinetes which are on wheels and a bedding box.
Then just relaxing.
Have a good day everybody.

Morning all :)

Hope you get your gardening done Jan, and sorry you're not sleeping well - I'm not sleeping as normal either, guess we're all a bit anxious (((x)))

Have a good day Cruiser :)

It's raining here, but we do need it so that's ok. Had the Zoom SW meeting already - Becky lost 2lbs and has reached her 6 1/2 stone award, which is brilliant! She's well on the way to target 8-) I maintained, which is ok, considering the Easter eggs

I've stripped our bed and got that in the wash, will have to tumble dry it later because of the weather. Nothing much planned, I did all the cleaning yesterday, and it's too wet for the garden  Reading, or telly then, I suppose.

Take care everyone xxx

Well done to B :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

I often get rubbish night sleep Kaz, used to read all night sometimes  then go to work

I'm giving the housework a miss this morning and heading back to bed.

The sun is out now, so Grumpy is going to clean the pool.

I'll see what I feel like later, after a snooze.

Good morning. Cool and grey here after some rain yesterday, but the threatened thunderstorm overnight must have passed us by.

Completed an early walk to the corner shop which doubles as a Post Office to dispatch a parcel for Mrs O. It seems funny to use contactless for such a small amount whereas before you'd think nothing of fishing out the cash, and it does make you wonder if the demise of cash will be one of those sea-changes that come out of this virus episode ….. They have changed the opening hours of the Post Office bit to operate from 10:00; luckily it was about 1/4 past when I got up there. It was quiet as the grave walking up, only passed a handful of folk and everyone giving everyone a very wide berth. About 5 folk in the shop itself - I didn't bother buying anything today but noted it was pretty well stocked up apart from cleaning products.

Master O made a guest appearance on yesterday's "Good Morning Britain" :o They did a feature on "clap for carers" and interviewed workers coming off shift outside Eastborne Hospital! There's a 6 second clip of him looking cross-eyed into the camera and trying to talk coherently about staff! He says they have no problems there with the supply of PPE and he has already dealt with "loads" of coronavirus patients being admitted to A&E - Sussex is a bit of a hot spot apparently - but he remains cheerful if exhausted. DiL has also now started working there.

Baking Day today, and we will be producing our traditional batch of rock cakes after lunch. In the meantime, a bit more hoovering is called for, especially as I've brought some mud into the house …

as Jan says, we all get rubbish nights trying to sleep sometimes, and I'm another one who will read into the early hours at times. This lockdown is playing havoc with one's body clock.

Interesting they're reopening your tip, Cruiser. Here, they have announced that the suspended kerbside grass / garden collections will recommence 27th April. Interestingly, those people who cancelled their annual direct debits in anger when the suspension was announced at the end of March will, if I'm reading it correctly, not be having their collections re-instated - and the Council have also said they will not be accepting "new applications" for the service, which sounds very much like payback time to me …. I do not think this will be the end of this particular saga ...

Easter Eggs, Kaz? How many? :cute:

Stay safe, all

Morning all......almost

Heavy rain overnight, it's on and off now but still very wet. Much cooler today too.

Sorry you had a restless night Jan and everyone not sleeping well.

Well done Becky, she really has done so well Kaz, you must be very proud of her :D :D :D

Glad Master O is well Ossie. Our garden waste collection has been marked as 'partial depending on staff levels' on our council website, they did collect this week, should have been the week before but we're not complaining. We pay a year in advance on direct debit, I doubt anyone here cancelled, they're doing the best they can and all other collections have run as normal. As far as I know the tip is still closed. To be fair, it is what it is, these are difficult times.

I should be doing some washing, but with the tumble dryer out of action it will all have to wait until Monday. Fingers tightly crossed the new one arrives without any problems, the dirty laundry basket will be overflowing by then. Nothing planned, I'm beginning to think it's time I started on some of the jobs I thought of doing when the lockdown started........hmm not sure I'm that bored yet

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Good afternoon,

When I cleaned our bedroom this morning, it meant moving the bed three times. It is on cators so easy.

Found a bow tie which we thought we had left in the cabin on our last cruise. I saw something poking out from the bed. When I pulled it out it was the end of the neck band. Been there since we unpacked at the end of December.

Sunny here but breezy and cool....no walk for me today (unless you count a much shorter than usual dog walk) as I have been clearing the cupboard under the stairs - AKA The Pantry - out, it's a job I wasn't relishing but it's done now so I am full of a sense of achievement! :D

Just stuck a dark wash in and hung out, hopefully it will be ready to bring in before dark.

Wow, B has done remarkably well hasn't she? Really well done to her!

Glad all are well here, shame some have had restless nights, I haven't been too bad since I had my meds rearranged :) In fact was turned 9 today - having been woken much sooner when T got up to take the dogs out at 6, I rolled back over and away I went!
